[Hiccup's Point Of View]

............................................................

Astrid didn't say a single word during the whole way to her house. I wasn't expecting her to say anything, I just wanted to make sure she wasn't sleeping or anything...

I carefully pulled up their driveway. The lights in the house were turned off which indicated, that her mom and guests haven't come home yet...

I parked and turned off my motorbike before slowly turning around. Astrid had all her upper body weight on my back, and I was close to push her off.

Luckily, I was able to catch her body on my arm and push her back up.

...Just as I suspected... She was, indeed, sleeping... Heavily...

I had been lucky... What if she fell during the ride because of her sleeping state?... I guess fate was good to me...

I sighed a sigh of relief quietly.

This could be a bit of a challenge, but I managed to get my foot over the handlebars and turn my whole body around to embrace the sleeping Astrid.

I took a moment to think about my next move. I didn't, by chance, happen to have the keys for the front door, and I don't know where Astrid hid them...

But, as my eyes wandered over Astrid again, I suddenly noticed a little lump in her the left pocket of her jeans. It had the shape of a key.

...Could it... possibly be?...

I placed my hand above her pocket and cupped it. It was a bit of an awkward position to get into her pocket, but I had to give it a try, so I slowly and gently wiggled my hands over the hem of the pocket.

It wasn't that far down, but it still needed a bit of positioning to be accomplished the right way. I finally felt the cold metal against the tip of my fingers, so I squeezed them together to get the metal in between and sort of fish the key out of her pocket...

After a few more seconds, I finally had the key in my palm.

...Now, it just got to be the right one!!

I could hear the small breaths from Astrid getting deeper. I had to put her in her bed before her mom gets back...

I put the key in my mouth, holding it with teeth as I carefully snaked my hands under her thighs and back, bring her up bridal style.

I now had her in my arms, so I slowly began walking to the door. I don't want to wake her up, that would be rude...

...

I continued and now the white, wooden door was right in front of me and Astrid by only a few inches. I turned around so I could get my body closer to the door.

I still had the key in my mouth and wondered why I didn't think this part through completely

...How am I going to unlock the door with Astrid sleeping in my arms?

I carefully and discreetly managed to take the key out of my mouth, using the hand carrying Astrid's back. In the meantime, Astrid had moved and snuggled into my chest like a pillow.

It was not because she was heavy or anything, it was just a very difficult position and I was beginning to fear if I accidentally dropped her...

Got to be strong Hiccup!

I now lifted my hand up to meet the door lock. I crossed my fingers on the other hand and hoped for it to fit the lock.

And to my luck, it slid right into the hole, making a satisfying click. I breathed out, relieved, and now began to turn the key, unlocking the door.

I now wasted no time to bring her inside and closing the door behind me. I kicked off my shoes and went to the stairs, carefully bringing her up.

...

As I reached her bedroom, I carefully placed her down in her bed. I took off the jacket, she was wearing, and her shoes.

I should probably not strip her because that would be weird... even though I'll gladly do it...

HICCUP! Stop those thoughts right now!!

It was rather cold and chilly in her room at the moment and I was wondering if a window was open, so I looked around and quickly spotted... an open window...

I released her and snaked my arms free, earning some unhappy and displeased groans from Astrid.

I didn't want to leave her either, but I had to close this window before insects and stuff would find their way inside...

...

As soon as I had closed the window, I heard some movement coming from the direction of Astrid, so I turned around to see her eyes slowly open into a narrow and sleepy look.

"Where am I?" she asked in a very sleepy voice, stretching her body.

I quickly got over to her and sat down on the edge of her bed. "Shh... You go to sleep again, you are at home safely..." I assured her and carefully guided her back under her blanket.

Astrid seemed still a little confused, but just let her with me. I placed my palm on her forehead to calm her down, and it seemed to work as her eyes now closed slowly again.

She was looking so gorgeous like this... Wish I could sit here and watch her all night...

...But that would be very creepy and my dad would eventually wonder where I am...

I removed my palm and leaned down, planting my lips on her forehead in a sweet, soft and gentle kiss. I stroked her hair tenderly and slowly pulled my lips back.

I noticed a small smile had curled up on Astrid's lips. She must be dreaming...

I was just about to get up but Astrid beat me to it. "No! Don't leave..." She mumbled, but still had her eyes closed.

...Wonder if she was dreaming still...

"I'm sorry, but I have to be out before your mom gets back..." I whispered back.

Astrid turned on her side and clung onto my waist. "I don't care..." She sighed.

I know I just can't leave like this, but I heard her mom - and to be honest, I'm far more scared of Helga... So I better obey what she said...

I have to get out before they come home...

...Which could happen anytime from now...

Astrid moved a little again and lifted her head up, her eyes now open, but still sleepy. "Pwease... Just a little bit... She doesn't have to know that you are here..." She asked and gave me a pair of irresistible, piercing puppy eyes...
