A/N - This imagine is based on the song 'Solider, Poet, King' by The Oh Hellos. I hope you all enjoy it.

You had always been convinced that love was not a once in a lifetime thing. Even as a child, you had detested the idea of soulmates and love at first sight. With hundreds of eligible men across the Seven Kingdoms, how would you be expected to choose just one? Surely, a life filled with multiple loves was worth more than a life with just one. Or so you believed.

The first man you ever loved was Jaime Lannister, a warrior to the bone, and as fiercely protective of you as a child would be with a favoured toy. You had truly enjoyed your time with him, enduring the harder moments in order to remain at his side for as long as possible.

You had seen him ride into danger on many occasions, whether he was fighting a war or attempting to keep the peace. But he always had his sword at his side, and he always returned safely. Everyone knew the damage that Jaime could cause, had seen the carnage that would follow him, and you were no different. Homes had been destroyed, cities left grieving for their men folk.

When Jaime had asked you to marry him you had been honoured, truly you had, but you couldn't bring yourself to say yes. You loved him, and he loved you, but in a world so torn apart it wasn't quite enough for you. You needed a love who would remain at your side for as long as possible, and Jaime couldn't ensure that. It was with a heavy heart that you left King's Landing, heading as far from the city your broken heart resided in as your body would carry you.

It was on your travels that you met your second love. Podrick Payne was everything Jaime could never be. Of course, he was brave, as Jaime was, but he was also sweet, and kind, and so morally upright that you couldn't help but admire him for it. He was a true romantic.  You would spend evening after evening, huddled together around the fire and listening as he would serenade you. Beautiful soft songs that left you breathless as you watched him in the light of the flickering flames.

You had seen yourself remaining in love with Pod as far into the future as you could imagine. Until you grew wrinkly and old, and died in your bed with him at your side, and long after. But it was not meant to be.

Pod was as committed to his goal of helping the Stark girls as he was to you, and as much as you may have admired hid effort, you couldn't continue to travel. When you told him of your decision he had cried, had begged for you to wait for him. But you had never been a patient woman, and you had told him as much as you kissed away his tears and told him a heartbroken goodbye.

You had never intended to find your way to the coast. Even in the ice cold north, the water seemed tempting to you, and now you had to stop yourself from diving in and embracing the chill of the water on your skin. You would likely die, once the shock had set in, and you couldn't have that, not yet.

It was at the docks of White Harbour that you met your third love. A man so renowned that you knew him by site the moment your eyes found him, Euron Greyjoy was every inch the king he had crowned himself. Handsome, with a hint of cruelty hidden behind his eyes, he was enticing, and you couldn't help but be drawn to him.

He, of course, was more than happy to welcome you. A pretty, young woman, readily throwing herself at him, was not quite something he was used to, and now here you were, doing just that. He had claimed to love you too, for a time, meeting every need you had until he began to grow bored of you. After all, he was a king, and you were nothing but a whore to warm his bed. You were not his Queen, as he had once claimed, but instead a hinderance to his fun.

Euron had been as happy to leave you in King's Landing when he had landed, as he had once been to welcome you onto his ship.

Perhaps it was then that you decided that love may not have been a once in a life time chance, that perhaps it wasn't a chance at all. Who was to say that love wasn't some fable, made up by the old crones who had longed for it so desperately, turning into haggard old women, so scared of being alone that they had thought up some mythical thought, and unreachable feeling that would leave every woman who came after them longing for something more than they already had.

For the first time since leaving King's Landing, you regretted ever leaving in the first place. If you had stayed here, with Jaime, you would have been married. You may have even had a child by now. But alas, in your hunt for the truest of loves, you had abandoned the first man to have truly loved you back.

Perhaps, if you had continued to travel with Pod, you would have found your place by now. You could have created a home of your own, somewhere in the bitter north, and been happy. Just the two of you, together. But no. You had abandoned him too, looking for something that you now weren't even sure had ever existed.

But the one you truly regretted was Euron. Your King. You had given him your heart, and allowed him to break it of his own accord. You had been careless with who you loved and had forgotten to protect yourself. And he would always be the love who had made you realise that love was nothing but a fairytale for scared children. He would be the love that had destroyed love.
