Audrey's POV

"Audrey can we steal you for a minute?" Alex Curry asks as we walk past the mixed zone

"Sure." I say then stand in front of the camera and wait.

"Thanks JP." Alex Curry says then she looks at me. "Audrey today will be your first game as captain, what are your emotions knowing that?"

Julie and Christen are being rested for today's game since they were roughed up in the game against Italy so that means I'm captaining us today.

"Uh my emotions are the same as usual." I say. "Everything will probably hit me when we walk out onto the pitch so I'll let you know after the game."

"With the US Soccer President elections looming, and with you being one of the voting players on the athletes' council, who do you think has the edge with the players?" Ms. Curry asks.

"The person who proves that they will make sure US Soccer is actually one nation one team." I say. "For far too long it's really been one nation two teams. As long as someone treats us the way we deserve then I'm sure us players will be voting for that person."

"Thank you Audrey." Alex Curry says.

"No problem." I say then head to the locker room.

When I get to the locker room I head to my locker then take off my necklaces, earrings, and nose ring before I start to change I then change into my warm up shirt, game shorts, my socks and my rainbow and white boots.

After I'm dressed I head out to the pitch with the rest of the team. When I get on the pitch I run through my warm ups with the starters for a while then head back to the locker room.

Once in the locker room I change out of the training top and change into our white jersey. After I'm dressed I wait around in my locker as the coaching staff do their last minute talks then the starters and I head to the tunnel and line up in the front of the line.

A minute later we head onto the pitch, stand for all the prematch stuff, then we shake hands.

I shake hands with the English players, but when my girlfriends ex gets to me I put both hands behind my back...again.

"You know the drill." I say. "Move along Bitch."

Beth tries to say something, but Jordan pushes her along.

"Just go." Jordan says then she shakes my hand.

I finish shaking the English's hands then I shake the refs hands before I head to the area in front of our bench to take the team photo.

After the team photo I head to the refs to do the captain stuff with Steph Houghton.

"Watch yourself today." Steph says as we switch flags.

"Tails." I say and look at the refs.

The ref flips the coin and it lands on tails.

"We want ball." I say then Steph points to the side England want.

We shake hands one last time then I head back to my teammates. We do our team huddle then we head onto the field and get ready for the kick off.

Alex takes the kick off and once she passes back to Alana I run into the English half and get ready for the kicks to come from Beth Mead.

Nothing happens in the game until almost the end of the first half.

In the 38th minute Kelley intercepts a pass meant for Parris then she plays a long ball upfield to a sprinting Tobin. Tobin then races to get the ball before the English keeper get there. When Tobin gets to the ball she sees me sprinting into the box so she crosses the ball towards me.
