Audrey's POV

"WHAT?" I shout down the phone.

"Yeah Bubba." Alyssa says.

"DIBS GODMOTHER."

"We'll see Audrey."

"Does Becky know what she's having?" I ask.

"Not yet." Alyssa says. "We find out tomorrow."

"Fair warning." I say. "I'm spoiling the shit out of your kid."

"I'd expect nothing less." Alyssa says.

"You know, Audrey Sauerbrunn has a nice ring to it."

"We'll see Bubba." Alyssa says. "We don't even know what we're having so we'll see."

"ALYSSA." I hear Becky yell. "YOUR CHILD AND I ARE HUNGRY."

"Bye Bubba." Alyssa says.

"Bye Auntie Lyssa." I say then we hang up.

Once we hang up I do a little happy dance because I'm happy for my Aunts.

After I finish my dance I decide to FaceTime my Mom.

"Hey Babygirl." Mom says

"Hey Mom." I say then smile at my Mom. "How's Mexico?"

Mom and Kelley's one year anniversary was during the April friendlies so they decided to take their anniversary trip now, in July, when LA has a 2 week break in-between games.

"It's great." Mom says with a smile as she looks beyond her phone. "Our house is right on the beach so Kelley's been in the water since lunch."

"She still trying to get you to surf?" I ask.

"Mhmm." Mom says as Kelley lays down then cuddles into my Mom.

"Hey Audrey." Kelley says.

"Hey Surfer girl." I say. "How are the waves?"

"Amazing." Kelley says and smiles. "I may have to get you and Daan in the water with me when you guys come visit."

"We'll see Kelley." I say then I look at my Mom. "Hey Mom?"

"Yeah babygirl?" Mom asks.

"How did you know you were ready to say I love you to Kelley?" I ask.

"I just knew." Mom says. "I knew that I could trust Kelley with everything I've been through, I knew that Kelley doesn't want me to be anybody other than myself, and I knew that Kelley wanted what's best for me...But in all honestly I knew I loved Kelley the moment she started seeing you as her daughter."

"Have you not told Daan you love her yet?" Kelley asks and I shake my head no. "Do you love her."

"I do." I admit. "But...It took me almost a year to tell Maya that I loved her."

"Why do you think that is?" Kelley asks.

"I'd rather not say." I mumble and look away from the phone.

"Sweetie." Mom softly says causing me to look at her. "I never loved Jerramy. I only married him because he said he would hurt you if I didn't...and I'm definitely sure he would have."

"Oh." I say.

"Whenever I told him that I loved him it was partly because I was scared he would hurt me, but mostly I was saying it to protect you."

"I wish I could punch that dude." Kelley mumbles.

"Join the club." I say then I look at the time on the phone. "Mom I gotta go."
