I'm laying awake at midnight as my phone starts to ring.

I let it ring till the call ends.
But then it rings again.

'What asshole is calling at this hour?' I grumble as I grab my phone.

I answer the call without looking at who it is.

'It's late.'

I'm getting if it's this late it's someone I know.

'I know, I'm sorry.'

My heart aches in response.
Clay.

'Why are you calling then?'
'You left in a hurry and I'm worried something is wrong.'
'Why would anything be wrong?'

I ask it a little too harshly, giving away that I'm mad.

'Talk to me.'
'Why?'
'Because, Amelia. I don't want you to leave home like this.'
'I don't have to tell you anything.'
'Dammit Amelia! Just tell me what I've done.'

I frown at the anger in his voice.
Is it anger? Or frustration.

'I don't know what to tell you Clay.'
'You obviously left because of me, otherwise there wouldn't be a reason to leave.'
'Alright smart guy, then guess what has be bothering me.'

A silence falls.
And somewhere that lets me know he knows.

'Listen to me and listen clearly.'

He doesn't talk, so I go on.

'I am simply thankful for your existence, wether I am meant to be a part of it or not.'

'Amelia-'
'No, you've made your decision.'
'I can fix this, just let me-'
'No. I just need some time. Let me take my time.'
'I don't want to-'

I cut him off one last time.

'What you want and don't want is not a problem of mine anymore. I'll see you again when I want to.'

I hang up the phone and let myself fall back onto the bed.
I could have known. Why did I let myself believe.

Tall noodle: At least tell me where you are, I'm worried.

I sigh and unlock my phone to answer.

You: uncle

I throw my phone aside,
