I'd say that having a kid is more of a bond then two rings and a vow.
The "yes I do" and the overdramatic dress and suit.

I'd say that the two lines on a pregnancy test say more then the promise of eternal love.
The ultrasounds being more then a document signed by man and woman.

Yet here we are.
Knees in the sand, question left unanswered.
Where to go from here.

We've fought a lot, the last couple of weeks.
By a mistake we both had made.
Even that, lead us to here.

Everything happens for a reason,
Or so they say.

We're getting married because we're having a child.
We're having a child because we had sex.
We had sex because we love one another.

Isn't that the answer to the question?

Yet the confirmation is needed.
The Yes or No.
No maybe, no yes but

We either sink or swim.

My parents tried to swim, but drowned in the sorrows of the vows they once made,
Leading to tragedy, for not just them, but their children too.

Yet I know, we are different.
We don't even have to choose to swim.
God, for all we care we breath underwater.

We're both kneeling in the sand as I wipe my tears, letting go of Clay.

Yes.

Clays eyes widen.
'Yes?'
I nod
'Yes.'
