It had been a week and everyone had been told about a community Tara discovered called Oceanside. The community consisted of only women and girls. They were once the victims of the Saviours. They had killed all of their brothers, fathers, husbands and sons and so the women picked up their stuff and left. They ran from the Saviours and settled by the ocean.
Tara led Aaron, Rick, Daryl, Michonne, Carl, Enid, Jesus and Madelyn to the community. Everyone asked Madelyn if she wanted to stay at Hilltop or head back to Alexandria as she had entered her ninth month of her pregnancy. The babies could come any day now but Madelyn wanted to come with them. She wanted to help. She couldn't sit and do nothing. As long as she had both of her arms and both of her legs, Madelyn was going to help and nobody was going to stop her.
Rick and Daryl were both hesitant but they figured having Madelyn there could be a good thing. Madelyn knew she could probably appeal to these women by telling them about her pregnancy and how she wants to raise her kids without the Saviours in their lives.
Tara had gone to speak to the leader of Oceanside whilst everyone else set up little explosives. If Tara didn't get Natania, the leader, to agree to help them fight the Saviours, they would have to force their hands. Everybody needed weapons. One of the explosives went off, panicking all of the Oceansiders and they began running. Michonne was hidden in a tree with a sniper gun just in case things took a turn for the worse. Everyone eventually ran into the group.
"On the ground, now." Daryl told all the women and everyone did as they were told. Jesus and Madelyn went around and tied all the women's wrists together.
"I'm so sorry it has to be like this." Madelyn said to one of the women but she said nothing.
"Now, we made a lot of noise. We want to wrap this up quick so you can send people to redirect anything coming this way. Tara said your forests are relatively clear, so we won't take any chances." Rick told the women as Daryl pulled a seat for Madelyn. She wanted to help but she still got tired much quicker than usual, especially since she was carrying two babies and not one.
"You good?" Daryl asked his wife and she nodded. Rick looked over at Daryl who nodded at him, telling Rick that Madelyn was fine before he turned back to look at the women. Rick wanted this to go down as smoothly as possible. He wanted wanted to make sure Madelyn would be okay during all this. He cared for her and didn't want her or her twins getting hurt.
"No-one needs to get hurt. This is just about what you have, what we need." Rick said to the women.
"Nobody's taking anything." Natania said as she approached everyone with her granddaughter, Cyndie and Tara who was being held at gun point. "You need to let everyone go and leave right now. Just walk away or this one dies."
"Yeah, we'll leave you alone but we're taking your weapons with us." Rick said. "That's not gonna change. It's Natania, right? Put the gun down, and let's talk about what we can change."
"No, leave, right now." Natania said. "We just wanna be left alone."
"Yeah, we'll leave you alone. Just let go of her, now." Rick said. "Or we'll kill you and none of us want that."
"They want us to fight the Saviours." Cyndie said to all the women and they all looked at each other in confusion and panic.
"We tried that. We lost too much." Natania said. "We're not gonna lose anymore. Not our guns, not our safety, not after everything we've done to get here."
"We're gonna win with your guns, with or without your help." Tara said.
"Maybe we should try." One of the women said.
"They've forgotten, you've all forgotten. Some of you actually want to fight them?" Natania asked. "After everything? We can lose our guns, but us leaving this place to fight, after everything?"
"Rick! Walkers!" Michonne yelled from the tree and everyone pulled out their weapons. There were a bunch of walkers headed straight for them.
"Everyone, shots within ten feet of the line." Rick said and everyone began shooting as well as using their knives. Madelyn used her crossbow from a safe distance since she wouldn't be able to run if any walkers got too close. Everyone was so distracted by the walkers coming from the front that nobody noticed a stray walker approaching Madelyn from behind. She heard a growl next to her ear and quickly turned around, finding herself face to face with a walker. The walker grabbed a hold of her wrist, trying to bite into her arm.
Madelyn used whatever strength she had to kick the walker away before quickly pulling her knife out. "Get over here, you son of a bitch." Madelyn muttered to the walker as it began approaching her again.
"A walker is getting the pregnant lady!" One of the girls yelled, making Rick, Daryl, Carl and Jesus turn around, seeing the walker approach Madelyn who had a knife in her hand.
"Shit!" Daryl exclaimed as he tried to push past the women in the way to get to Madelyn. Rick, Carl and Jesus were trying to reload their guns as fast as they could. Once the walker got close enough, Madelyn kicked it in the knee, making it fall onto the ground before stabbing the walker in the head, killing it. She pulled her knife out and breathed heavily as she leaned against a tree and Daryl ran over to her. "Are you okay?! Did it bite you?" He asked frantically as he checked her body for bites.
"I'm fine. I'm good. That just took a lot out of me." Madelyn said with a small smile.
"Damn, even almost nine months pregnant and you're still badass. You trying to turn me on right now?" Daryl asked, making Madelyn laugh.
"Why? Did it work?" Madelyn whispered.
"Very well." Daryl whispered in her ear before kissing it.
"Stop. Come on." Madelyn said before he pulled away and everyone came rushing to check on her.
"You okay?" Rick asked, a little worried.
"I'm fine, Rick. I'm fine." Madelyn said, making everyone sigh in relief.
"Maddie's my girl. She knows how to handle herself." Daryl said as he smiled with pride.
Once all the walkers were dead, the Oceansiders decided they were going to give the group all their guns but they weren't going to fight the Saviours with them. Rick didn't force them to. All they needed were the guns and they got them. It was almost time.

It was nightfall when the group got back to Alexandria. They were met by Rosita who was on her own. Sasha wasn't with them. They knew Sasha and Rosita had both left Hilltop when the Saviours came to find Negan and kill him. Rosita informed them that there was someone to see them and when they saw who it was, they were shocked to their core.
