After sitting on the bench and watching the night sky for a while, Devius felt Cameron's hand caressing his hair. They where watching the the stars twinkle like little diamonds up in the sky. There isn't much people around already because it's dark. There were only few and they're far from where the two are sitting. Fortunately, the park is open 24/7, so they didn't have to leave just yet.

"Hey, Chad..."

"Hmm?"

"I wanted to tell you something." Detective Lee mumbled.

Officer Chad looked up to him. "What is it, Cai?"

Cameron slightly smiled and sat properly, taking his arm off of Devius' shoulder as he lean backwards. "I wanted to give you a peak to my past."

"A peak to your past?"

"Mm-hmm." Detective Lee nodded. "To be honest, I've been thinking about it for the whole time and though I still have my doubts, I've decided to trust you."

"No matter what it is, you don't have to worry. You can trust me." Devius squeezed Cameron's hand.

Detective Lee took a deep breath, staring directly at the other's eyes. Officer Chad intertwined their fingers making Cameron's heart race again. It feels weirdly fascinating for him since he has never experienced it before. A hint of happiness is slowly growing from somewhere in his heart. Though Cameron doesn't know if that is what they called love, admiration or whatsoever, he likes that feeling that Devius' action is giving him. Detective Lee moved to lay down on his lap. Devius was surprised by his actions but smiled as he gently touch his partner's face.

"Cai, what is it? You can tell me." He assured.

"I wanted to tell you my past but it's not just a simple dramatic narration of the history of my life. You might even take back all your confession after hearing it." A hint of sadness was felt from the detective's voice.

Devius gave him a reassuring smile. "Nothing will make me regret confessing my love for you, trust me."

"Hmm." Cameron hummed. He went silent for a second before continuing. "Well, I grew up without knowing who my parents are or if they were alive. All I know is that, I was abducted when I was just born and I grew up in a place no one could ever imagine..." A flashback of memories came to him as he started narrating his story. "...I was locked up in a basement where there's only a mirror, a dirty bed and a very small window..." Just thinking about that place is making him uncomfortable but Cameron knew he needed to tell Devius his past. "...Everyday, I look at myself in front of that mirror. It took me a long time to finally see the outside world because in that basement, there was only a little gap where the sunshine is coming in..." He added. He could feel his heart aching as he started recalling all the memories of his childhood. "...When I finally got to get out of that place, I thought I'd be finally free. I thought I could finally escape from that hell I was in for a long time but I was wrong." A drop of tear came out of his eyes and he could feel his hands shaking.

"Cai..." Devius wanted him to stop but he also wanted to know Detective Lee better.

"I was sent to an orphanage after being rescued and that's when my soul got shattered more and more. I was abused physically and mentally by the staffs and some other kids. The place I thought I could call heaven was just another place of hell." At that point, Cameron's tears couldn't be held back anymore and all Devius could do was to hold his hand tightly, hoping that his little action could comfort his partner.

Yet seeing this usually tough guy cry, he could feel his heart aching for the man he love. "Cai, from now on, I'll make sure that you'll never have to experience anything like that anymore."
