☆ flashback ☆

"bye, lixie!" jisung called out, waving his hands to felix as chan's car pulled up.

"bye, jiji! remember to consider my suggestion, okay?" felix replied, stepping inside chan's car.

"bye, ji!" chan chimed in, lowering his car window to wave goodbye to jisung.

"goodbye, guys. stay safe, and yes, lix, i'll think about it," jisung responded, heading to the car that had come to pick him up.

class had ended hours ago for them, but due to their involvement in club activities—felix in the dance club and jisung in the music club—they often went home quite late. felix was picked up by his cousin chan, who was attending flight school. on the other hand, jisung had a car of his own but didn't feel comfortable driving it, fearing the accidents that could happen on the road. sometimes, he'd ride with felix and chan, but lately, chan had been busy with flight school, so jisung didn't want to burden them.

jisung stepped into the car, where his chauffeur greeted him, and he greeted back with a warm smile. he settled into the backseat, tossing his bag to the other side and sinking into his seat with a sigh.

"straight home, ji?" the chauffeur asked, glancing at jisung in the rearview mirror.

"can we stop at mcdonald's?" jisung responded, giving the chauffeur a pleading look.

"of course, but remember, your parents don't want you eating fast food too often," the chauffeur replied with a chuckle, shifting his focus back to the road and driving off.

"i don't eat it that much, i'm just really craving some maccas right now," jisung explained, his eyes lighting up with anticipation of satisfying his earlier craving.

"maccas?"

"mcdonald's. i know, i know, i've been hanging out with felix a lot," jisung admitted.

"sir lee and you guys really are like twins," the chauffeur remarked.

"mr. choi, you know that better. you've been working for my parents for almost 25 years now," jisung replied with a warm smile.

mr. choi had been with jisung's family for nearly 25 years, even before jisung was born. they had grown close over the years. whenever jisung's parents were on business trips, mr. choi would look after him and his brother. now that his brother accompanied their parents for business, mr. choi was the only one jisung could turn to when he was alone at home. because of their closeness, jisung had requested that mr. choi address him casually, which is why he called him ji.

mr. choi smiled at jisung's response and drove to the nearest mcdonald's drive-thru to satisfy jisung's craving.

-----

when jisung arrived home, he immediately noticed his parents' car parked outside, prompting him to sprint towards the large front door.

upon entering the house, he saw the maids busy arranging his parents' luggage, while his parents engaged in conversation.

"mom! dad!" jisung called out, rushing up to them with the mcdonald's paper bag in hand.

"honey!" mrs. han exclaimed, opening her arms to invite jisung for a hug.

jisung readily embraced his mom in a warm hug. "i missed you guys," he muttered.

"is that mcdonald's i see, jisung?" mr. han asked, raising an eyebrow at the paper bag.

"i was craving maccas, dad, okay?" jisung huffed, pulling away from the hug and clutching the paper bag to his chest.

mrs. han placed her hand on jisung's head, gently stroking it. "as long as you don't have it too often, then i guess it's okay," she said in a warm tone.

jisung inquired, his voice tinged with a touch of sadness, "for how long are you guys staying?"

"we'll be here for a couple more weeks, so that means we can spend more time together!" mrs. han cheered, her words instantly lighting up jisung's eyes with happiness.

"really?!"

"mhm, i'm also going to give the maids some time off during those weeks. it's been a while since i played the role of a housewife, so i want to be the one to take care of you while i'm here," she responded.

jisung hugged her again, jumping in her arms with sheer joy. "i love that, mom."

"by the way, where's brian hyung?" jisung asked, pulling away from the hug and scanning the house for his brother.

"your brother stayed behind as part of his training. he'll be coming home in a few days," mr. han replied, and jisung snickered in response.

"at least i get to be an only child for a few days," he teased.

"anyways, i have to go to my room now," jisung added, turning to his parents to excuse himself.

"alright, honey. i'll just call you when dinner's ready, okay?" mrs. han responded in her usual warm tone.

jisung nodded and made his way upstairs to his room. he set down his mcdonald's paper bag on his desk and began unpacking its contents. he had already eaten a few chicken nuggets on the way home, but he saved some to munch on while working. he also had a large fries and a vanilla milkshake.

sitting at his desk, he put on his eyeglasses, opened his computer, and started working on any assignments he had for the day.

-----

jisung was engrossed in his assignment, his hands busily jotting down notes while taking bites of his maccas.

suddenly, his concentration was disrupted by a notification sound on his phone. jisung shifted his attention to his phone, unlocking the screen to see what it was about.

jisung sighed to himself before opening his phone to completely read felix's message.

"he really wants to persuade me to pursue tourism," jisung thought aloud with a chuckle

"he really wants to persuade me to pursue tourism," jisung thought aloud with a chuckle.

"doesn't sound too bad," he added, leaning back in his chair as he contemplated what it would be like to become a flight attendant.

his thoughts were interrupted by a gentle knock on his door, and a familiar voice calling out, "jisung, honey, come down. i made your favorite for dinner."

jisung perked up, straightening in his seat. "just a sec, mom!"

with that, he tidied up his messy desk before heading downstairs to have dinner with his family.
