"Okay, okay, you've got it," Mikey reassured you, "Now just push forward with your foot..."

You swallowed hard, putting a leg out and slowly pushing forward on the skateboard, waiting for ground impact. But you grinned wildly as the skateboard carried you smoothly across the rooftop. You laughed excitedly, pumping a fist into the air.

"You're doing it!" Mikey exclaimed, "You're skateboarding!"

"I...I am!" you shouted, "I'm skateboarding! I'm--"

Your sentence was cut short as the board slipped out from under you, sending you flying. You landed on the ground, banging your knee pretty hard against the concrete. Alright, maybe not the best dismount.

"Y/N!" Mikey cried, hurrying over, "Are you alright?"

You had to bite your tongue to keep from letting out a sob. You shook your head slightly, tearing up a bit as you cradled your knee. You bent your head down, your h/c locks falling down around your face as a lone tear streaked down your cheek. Mikey sat next to you, scooping you up into his arms and comforting you. 

"I'm sorry," he kept apologizing, "Man, are you gonna be okay?"

You sniffled a bit, before nodding. Mikey hugged you closer, stroking your hair a bit to comfort you. The shooting pain soon was reduced to a dull throb, but you didn't want to let go of Mikey, feeling secure in his hold. You looked up at him, smiling affectionately, and he wiped away the last of your tears.

"Thanks," you commented, kissing him softly. You wrapped your arms around his neck and leaned your head on his shoulder. Mikey smiled down at you.

"Anything for you, my lady."
