Mikey and I smirked at eachother as we frantically hit buttons on our controllers, as I tried to beat his high score and Mikey desperately attempted to keep the high ranking.
"Ha!" I shouted as the game ended with me in first place, "In. Your. Face!"
Mikey crossed his arms grudgingly. "Beginner's luck," He pouted.
"Mikey, that was the twentieth time we played that level. I'm no beginner."
He rolled his eyes, but his smile was still there. I grinned, but my smile turned to a frown when the TV screen suddenly went black. Seconds later, the rest of the lights in the lair went out.
"Umm," I shifted closer to Mikey nervously, "Who turned the lights out?"
I saw him shrug, "Maybe just because of the thunderstorm outside?"
"Thunderstorm?!" I cried, "There's supposed to be a thunderstorm today?!"
Mikey was taken aback by my sudden change of mood, "Well, yeah, but it's no big--"
He was cut off by a huge clap of thunder.
I shrieked, and my ability kicked into gear, as I sped out of the living room and hid under the table in the kitchen, rocking back and forth fearfully with each clash of lightning and boom of thunder. Mikey eventually found me, since I'd sped out at such high speeds he didn't even see where I'd gone. He grabbed my hand with a small smile.

"Hey, it's okay, just a little thunder..."

I shook my head fearfully and squeaked as I heard more lightning crash outside. Mikey paused, then raced out of sight, making my heart drop into my stomach. Had he left me?

But moments later, he crawled under the table beside me, draping a blanket over my legs and tugging me into his embrace, before bringing out a big bag of Hershey's Kisses.

"If we're gonna wait this storm out, we might as well have something good to eat." He quipped with a grin.

I smiled gratefully, kissing him softly, "Thanks, My Turtle."

"Anything for you, My Lady."
