Yes, I know Christmas is already through. Do I care? NO!

"WITH matching gloves?! This is the best!"

"I knew you'd like it," I said confidently, smiling as Raph unwrapped his complete riding outfit. You would not believe how hard it was to find a jacket large enough to fit over his shell, boots big enough to fit his feet into, and gloves with only three fingers in each of them. But I was the best girlfriend in the world, and managed to pull it off, along with a custom-made helmet adorned with red flames along the sides. Once I'd heard his brothers were expecting a sweet new hot rod from Donnie's shop, I knew Raph would be chomping at the bit to find a dope outfit.

"I LOVE it. Thanks, Beautiful," he said, setting the jacket and accoutrements back into the tissue paper and hugging me close and giving me a long kiss. I pulled away with a laugh.

"Yeah, yeah, don't mention it."

"I got one more thing for you," he stated, rummaging through the torn-up wrapping paper, searching for the last present.

I bit my lip nervously. I never had liked getting gifts -- sure, I was grateful to get them, but there was always the lingering suspicion that once I unwrapped it, I would absolutely hate it and have to fake an excited grin. And I was very picky, so that awkward impromptu acting was more needed than usual for me.

Raph finally came up out of the sea of tissue paper and wrappings wielding a tiny box. He shoved it into my hands, staring at me and practically begging for me to open it as soon as possible. It was unnerving, how excited he was. And the look of this gift was not looking promise. It was going to be some type of jewelry. Had to be.

"Raph, you know I don't like diamonds and rhinestones and all that." I wrinkled my nose, glancing up at him dubiously.

"I know, I know. But you'll like this, I promise."

"Don't make promises you can't..." I opened the box. "...whoa."

It was a ring. A thin rose gold band, with a simple rhombus shaping topping it, decorated with the tiniest and subtlest jewels. It was simple, and humble, and completely gorgeous.

A new, startling thought popped into my head.

"Raphael if you have the nerve to propose to me I swear I'm gonna kick your--"

"Propose? No!" he cried, resting a hand on my shoulder, an apologetic smile on his face. "I'm not...ready for that quite yet, you know?"

I sighed in relief."Yeah. Me neither."

"But...," he continued, taking the ring out of its holder, "I want you to know that... I'm always gonna be here for you. And that I'm never gonna leave you, or stop loving you. I'm...I'm in love with you, Y/N. And I guess I wanted to give you this as a promise of that..."

He rubbed the back of his neck, obviously going out of his comfort zone with so many heartfelt words. I smiled, my heart doing backflips.

"You... you really mean it?"

"Yeah! I do." He cleared his throat. "So uh... will you wear it?"

"Of course." I grinned, taking the ring and slipping it onto my finger, admiring it and then leaning over over to kiss his cheek. "Thank you, Raphael."

He smiled, wrapping an arm around my midsection. "Merry Christmas, Beautiful."
