Eleventh Poem: The First Poem I Ever Wrote

You have no idea of the pain you caused

From the moment I saw you with my cousin

Till this day

Though your kisses were warm

Your heart was cold

For some reason, your name and face rattle me so

My heart may soar at your name

but it also leaves a bitter taste on my tongue

My anger overcomes me sometimes

In the depths of my despair

How dare you?! My mind would scream

You kiss me and throw me away

As if I am some old love letter that has no meaning

How dare I be such a fool

In thinking my inspiration was you?

you gave me hope

of the mere possibility

When there was no possibility at all!

How can I be a fool?

thinking my selfless true love

Could have been a selfish you!

Time clicks by

And I think what would have been different?

If you were mine?

I would have been blown away

If you gave me the time of day

Sometimes our eyes meet

And in the bottom of my heart, I weep

Shallow mornings

Shallow nights

if only our future

were so bright

my heart builds walls

for the upcoming fight

If I were so bold

then maybe my love that had died long ago

You may have been told

The endless sky

Is how I remember you by

For love is gone

And so am I
