"Ms. Winston. You cannot hit your fellow students." Mr. Higdon said, "It's unacceptable."

"She said my brother hated me. That he left because of me." I said. I was furious. Dally cares for me. He tried to take me with him, but my parents wouldn't let him.

"That is not an excuse. Ms. Winston, I'm sorry, but I'll have to expel you."

"Ya know what? I don't care." I pick up a crystal vase. "This is beautiful. Where'd ya get it."

"It was passed down for five generations. It's very fragile, please be careful."

"Ya know, I'm not your student anymore. You can't punish me." I throw the vase as hard as I could at the window. It shattered into millions of tiny fragments. I run. I hear him shouting at me, but I don't listen, I just keep running.

When I got home, I saw an official looking lady standing outside the door.

"What do you want?" I used my most threatening voice.

"Are you the Winston girl?" she asked.

"Yeah. Why do you want to know?"

"I'm sorry, but your parents are dead. They died in a car accident." I didn't know what to say. My parents weren't good parents. They were drunks, but they were my parents. "You'll have to live with your brother."

"My brother?" I missed Dally, but living with him would be its own form of hell. He went to jail when he was ten. I can't believe they're sending me to live with him. It's better than a girls' home though. "Dallas Winston?"

"Yes. Do you have a problem?"

"Um, I have to go all the way to Tulsa, Oklahoma?"

"Yes."

"How will I get there?"

"I'll have to drive you."

"When do we leave?"

"Soon." I went inside my house. I grabbed a backpack. I grab all the money I can, because living with Dallas Winston won't be free. Last I heard from him, he didn't have a job.

We get in her car and she starts driving. After hours and hours of driving, we finally arrive.

"A bar? You're leaving me at a bar?" I shouted.

"It's the only address for him." She gets in her car and drives away.

"What the hell!" She left me here in front of a bar. This is a place that I'd expect Dally to live at. I knock on the door.

"What do you want?" This isn't Dally. He doesn't look anything like Dally.

"Could you get Dallas Winston? Tell him Maria is here."

"Fine." He leaves. Five minutes later, I see Dally coming down the stairs.

"Maria? What are you doing here?" He's shocked. I can see that his eyes are dead though. No feeling, no life, no nothing.

"They're dead, so some official lady dropped me off here and left."

"Our parents are dead?"

"Yeah. So now I have to live with you. I'm not living in a bar though."

"The back is perfectly fine."

"No, it's not! Nice to see you Dally, but I won't live with you in a bar." I turn around and start running. I don't know where I'm running, but I don't care.

"You dirty greasers know better than to try to pick up our girls!" I hear shouting. I run towards it. I see two girls, one has black hair and looks scared. The other doesn't look scared, instead she looks furious. She's holding a switch out. There are two guys stalking towards them. There's a boy being drowned in the fountain. I see another boy trying to get the guy drowning him off. I run towards the guys stalking the girls and make a long cut down his arm with my switch. He's furious. He turns towards me, and the girl with the switch attacks the other guy. We get them good. All of them run away.
