"What the hell!" I screamed

"What the hell!" I screamed. "Whoever did this, you will pay!" Someone had smashed chocolate cake in my face. I was boiling with rage.

I spotted Maria talking to Soda. She probably did it, then started talking to Soda to create an alibi.

"Maria! Did you do this?" I shouted, making my way across the room.

"No, I didn't. I've been here the whole time." she said.

"I know you did it." I said, "Come on, just admit it."

"Why should I?" she shot back, "It's not like you've ever cared for me! Ever!" she shouted, before vanishing. Dammit, now I don't know where she is.

"Hey! Where'd ya go?" I asked. Two was standing behind me, when a beer was dumped on my head.

"Hey!" I shouted. "Keith Mathews! Why did you dump your beer on my head?"I was real mad.

"I didn't! Someone grabbed it outta my hand and dumped it on ya, before they put it back in my hand." Two really was scared, but I wasn't gonna let up on him.

"Let's take this out back." I growled, before grabbing Two by the collar of his shirt and pulling him out to the back.

"I'm telling ya, I didn't do it." Two said, trying to convince me. Didn't do it? You had an empty beer bottle in your hand when I turned around.

"Maria? Do ya mind going inside? This could get messy." I said. She was sitting on the steps, and looking at the stars.

"Yes, I do mind. Why should you care about me? I'm just your kid sister, that ruined your life! " she screamed. She walked towards me, and punched me square in the nose. I heard it crack, as blood started gushing out of it.

"Damn, Maria, ya really know how to pack a punch." Two said, backing away from me.

"Maria, I do care. I just don't know how to show it anymore. I wanted to take you with me when I left, but our parents-" I started to say.

"They aren't my parents. Not anymore. They're your parents." she spat.

"They wouldn't let me take you. I wanted to keep you safe from them-"

"But you failed."

"Dal, you alright?" Darry asked.

"Of course I am, I mean, my kid sister just broke my nose." I said sarcastically. I wasn't in a good mood, but who would be, if their kid sister broke their nose?

"Do ya want me to break something else?" she threatened.

"Well, we don't have to worry about Maria at the rumble." Soda said cheerfully. Soda! I don't want her at the rumble, and I told you!

"My kid sister isn't gonna go to a rumble. Not as long as I'm around to stop her." I grumbled.

"You're really asking for me to break something else." she growled.

"Alright, break it up." Sophie said, "Linh, you take care of Dallas. He hates me. He only strongly dislikes you." she said, in response to Linh's protests. Correction, I hate everyone. Everyone, except for Johnny, Tess, and Maria.

"Fine. Dallas, go to the hospital, while I try to help Evelyn learn how to control the water. Maybe she'll be as talented as I am. Imagine how wet we can make your jeans." Linh said, before stalking away with Evelyn. I hate wet jeans. They rub, and I get a rash.

"Fine. Fitz, you can help Dallas. There's probably something in that pouch, that could help with a broken nose." Sophie said.

"That pouch is huge." Fitz complained.

"I swear, it's like Mr. Forkle just gave Elwin a pouch and let him fill it up with everything." Sophie muttered.

"You do tend to get into a lot of accidents." Fitz said, dumping the pouch onto the ground. "Where is it?" he muttered.

"Achy-Breaky Balm? Or Achy-Breaky Elixir?" Sophie asked.

"Probably the elixir. Or Keefe's instructions, and a highly detailed plan of how to kidnap Elwin."

"Oh, stop fussing. It's just a broken nose." I said. It hurt like hell, but I ain't gonna let anyone know that, especially because my kid sister did it.

"Dal, did ya really mean it?" Maria asked softly.

"Mean what?" I asked. What is she talking about? Why does she look like she's about to cry?

"That you wanted to take me with you. And that you cared enough to not let me go to the rumble." she whispered.

"Yeah, I mean it. Both of 'em." I said gruffly. She didn't say anything. Oh no, did I do something wrong? She hugged me, not caring about the blood still dripping from my nose. I wrapped one arm around her, while holding my nose with my other hand.

"Well, that's better." Sophie whispered.

"I love siblings making up." Linh replied, before hugging Tam.

"Yeah, siblings are good." Tam said gruffly, as he hugged her.

"I miss Biana." Fitz said, "She'd totally make fun of me for hugging her."

"Same with Amy." Sophie said. Fitz pulled her in for a kiss.

"Get a room!" Steve shouted.

"Ew!" Two shouted at the same time.

"Aw, Two, ya know ya do the same thing with your blond broads." Soda teased. I decided to ignore them, and reassure Maria.

"I love you." I whispered. I meant it with all my heart. Cold, hard Dallas Winston was finally thawing. It felt different, but good.

"I love you too, Dal." Maria replied, "Thanks for letting me break your nose. It really is a good way to let out your anger." Seriously? I pour out my heart and soul to her, and she jokes about my nose? It still hurts like hell.

"Hey!" I said, "If I get mad, I ain't gonna break your nose."

"So?" she said.

"Kid, you're trouble, but all the same, I love you." I said, grinning.

"I know I'm trouble." she replied, "But you're the one with the fuzz record that's a mile long."

"True kid, but let's see where you are in three years." I joked, "Now, who's gonna help me with the broken nose?"

"Come here." Darry said, "Lie down on the couch. Soda, get some ice."

"Sure thing, Muscles." Soda ran into the kitchen to find ice.

"Maria, ya sure can pack a punch." Darry remarked.

"Yeah, yeah, just fix it." I said, "It hurts like hell."

"And his kid sister caused it." Steve said, "I wonder how tough you'll be then."

"I could still wallop you." I muttered.

"Stop fighting." Sophie said, "When's the rumble?"

" Tomorrow night." Steve said, "Those Socs must've not gotten the word, when they jumped Zara."

"Well, we'll have to train them." I said, pointing at all the new additions.

"I'm not fighting." said Evelyn and Linh at the same time.

"I'm not either." Sophie said, "The Elvin mind is too fragile to handle guilt. And harming people, unless it's self-defense."

"Well, you can stay here, but I'm getting revenge on the Socs who hurt Johnny." Alyssa declared.
