"You're angry." Tess whispered to Tam. "I get it. It's hard to let go of your mistakes. But you need to let go. You can't dwell on the past. As a greaser, I've seen firsthand, the damage the grudges we hold against the Socs can do." Bob. He died because of those grudges. I killed him. It was him, or Pony.

"Hey, what's with the long faces?" Dal asked, ruffling my hair. "We rescued Jenny, none of us are dead, or dying-"

"You're not in the cooler." Tess added smirking at him.

"True, man." Dally drawled, "Y'all haven't answered my question. What's with the long faces?"

"Stuffed animal withdrawal. Deep thoughts." Tam said, "Nothing you'd understand." He must have a death wish, if he's gonna talk to Dal like that.

"You're gonna get it." Dallas growled lunging at Tam.

"Hey!" Sophie shouted, "Break it up you two! We can't fight now, not when, when we already have enough problems." Her eyes were dull with fear. I've seen that fear in my own eyes so many times.

"Hey!" Dallas shouted, "I know you're doing that creepy mind talking thing! Stop!"

"We're not doing anything." Fitz said, "We should try to train you guys, and help you learn about your abilities."

"Kinda like how Sophie taught me to transmit?" Tess asked.

"Yep, and I'll teach you some inflicting." Sophie said, smiling. "Tam can work with Tara and Zara. Linh can work with Evelyn. Fitz, you can help the Telepaths, because I'll also have to work with Darry on mimicking. I'll do my best, anyways." She grimaced. "Master Cadence likes to point out all the flaws with my mimicking skills, which aren't very good."

"Darry would actually be better off learning mimicking from Keefe." Fitz said. His thoughtful look let me know he was thinking of past events.

"I know, but we have to make do with what we've got." Sophie said, "At least I can recite Master Cadence's lectures."

"True." Fitz said, smiling.

"Hey, Sophie?" Linh asked, "What can I do to help?"

"You could teach Evelyn what you can." Sophie said, "And you could get Tam to help Tara and Zara."

"I'm on it." Linh said. She walked to Tam, and asked him to help. He shook his head angrily, his silvery blue eyes flashing with anger.

"No." He glared at her. I'm surprised she didn't tremble at all, under the anger of his glare. I know I would've. It's too similar to the looks I get from my parents. "I don't want to be here. I don't want to help."

"Please." Linh said, "You do realize you didn't have to come. You could've let me go without you."

"What kind of twin would that make me?" Tam scoffed, "Of course I wanted to come with you."

"Then start showing it, rather than sitting here, moping." Linh snapped.

"I'm sulking. It's what Shades do." Tam growled.

"Teach Tara and Zara how to sulk, then. Just do something." Linh pleaded, "We all make sacrifices. We don't want them to be in vain."

"Fine." Tam huffed, "I'll do it."

"Thanks." Linh hugged him, which he endured for three seconds, before pushing her away.

"Hug's over."

Linh walked over to Evelyn, so she could start to teach her. I smiled at the way Evelyn's face lit up, when Linh offered to help.

"Well, now that that's done, we can start on Tess and Johnny." Sophie said.
