"Hey guys." I said, as I opened the gate. "I set up snacks in the garden. There's mallowmelt, don't worry." I looked at Keefe's face, and he looked really worried. I know how much he loves mallowmelt, so I wanted to reassure him.

"Mallowmelt, here I come!" Keefe shouted, as he raced towards the picnic I just set up in the garden. There was a pond nearby, that sparkled in the afternoon light.

"I want some!"

"Nu-uh!"

"Yes I do!" The triplets were arguing.

"Ha! I got here first!" Bex shouted. While her brothers were arguing, she ran to the mallowmelt and grabbed some for herself.

"Guys! Be polite!" Dex scolded.

"It's fine. My mom made enough for a whole party to have four slices each. I just didn't bring it all out." I said, placing her hand on his arm. Whenever I touch him, or even think about him, I feel tingles. I tell myself it's just because we haven't gotten along until Sophie, but now that she's gone, I'm scared we might not get along anymore. Maybe, Sophie's the whole reason we're talking to each other. Maybe, we'll stop talking to each other because Sophie's gone.

"Okay." Dex replied, placing his hand over the hand I had placed on his arm. "Let's get planning."

"So, the elves that are willing to help out are Sophie, Fitz, Linh, Tam, Dex, Keefe, and me." I said, writing our names and abilities in my notebook. I know their abilities by heart, but it just helps me to write it all down.

"And the greasers are Tess, Johnny, Darry, Sodapop, Ponyboy, Evelyn, Alyssa, Two-Bit, Steve, Dallas, and Maria." Keefe finished. I wrote their names down as well.

"Tess and Johnny are Telepaths. Darry's a Polyglot and Conjurer. Sodapop and Ponyboy are Empaths, Evelyn's a Hydrokinetic, Two-Bit's a Conjurer, Steve's a Technopath, Alyssa's a Froster, Maria's a Vanisher-"

"And Dallas is a Vanisher and Conjurer!" Keefe interrupted Dex. I wrote their abilities down, right underneath their names.

"So, you want to take on Dallas, Two-Bit, Sodapop, and Ponyboy?" I asked Keefe. I think he's crazy, to want to take on four of them. Especially with one of them being a troublemaker. That likes to do serious crimes, not just pranks. He'll regret it, but at least I don't have to work with Dallas. The way the book painted him, it scares me.

"Yeah. That way we can create mayhem." Keefe shouted.

"I'll take Maria, because we're both Vanishers." I vanished for emphasis, and also because Dex smiled at me, and I was blushing bright red. I didn't want Keefe to notice and touch me. He'd tease me endlessly.

"I'll take Steve. My mom's a Froster, so I could also take Alyssa." Dex suggested. We worked together to create the whole list. In the end, we had this list:

Sophie: Tess and Darry

Fitz: Johnny

Linh: Evelyn

Tam: Help Keefe

Biana: Maria

Dex: Steve and Alyssa

Keefe: Dallas, Sodapop, Two-Bit, and Ponyboy

"Why does Tam have to help me?" Keefe protested, "I'll be fine."

"You have four greasers to help. You'll be grateful for his help." I said. Keefe and Tam aren't the best of friends, so maybe this will force them to become better friends.

"Or I could use this." Dex held up a cube. I knew it would emit a bunch of different balms that would completely alter his appearance.

"What does that do?" Keefe asked.

"You don't want to know." I said.

"You told Biana, and not me? That hurts. I thought we were going to team up against Fitzie, but I guess I was wrong." Keefe said dramatically.

"That's for me to know, and you to find out. If I use it on you." Dex replied.

"Ugh. Fine." Keefe said, before holding up his crystal, and leaping away.

"He knows when he's losing, and he retreats." Dex said.

"What balms are in that one?" I asked.

"Um," Dex started.

"You just put a bunch of random balms in, didn't you." I said, smiling when he nodded.

"I wanted it to be random." Dex said, "I had different piles, and I took one from each."

"Oh, Dex." I said.

"Since my mom came by, and took the triplets home, do you want to create a list of possible activities we could do?" Dex asked.

"Sure." I said. Dex really has grown up. His strawberry blond hair and periwinkle eyes are so captivating.

"You want to stay out here?" Dex asked.

"What?" I asked, "Oh, sure." I vanished, because I was sure I had to be bright red.

"Biana? Are you okay?" Dex asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I said, reappearing.

"So, maybe Truth or Dare?"

"Yeah. We can come up with some pretty awesome dares if we start thinking now." I said.

"Yeah, I can use this!" Dex held up the cube he threatened Keefe with. "I have a whole stash of these. I could figure out how to set a timer and have the balms squirt out and coat the person I threw it to."

"Maybe you could bring them all over, and have them choose. Without the timers, though. You can put the timers on other ones."

"That's a great idea!" Dex took my notebook, tore out a blank sheet, and wrote 'bring all the appearance changing cubes.' He stuffed it into one of the many ankle pockets. "Maybe you could dare them to let you do a makeover on them."

"I love makeovers! Especially on new people!"

"If you don't dress up, you can trick them into thinking you're not into makeup, and when you're finished, they'll be completely surprised." Dex suggested, "I think we should hold off until we've gotten to know them a little, so we can figure out who would be the best to dare into a makeover."

"I'll have to go that long without makeup?" I asked.

"Not without, just light. And not as much glittery stuff." He's such a guy. I mean, glittery stuff? There's sequins, and glitter, and rhinestones, and shimmers, and sparkles!

"You're such a guy."

"I am a guy." Dex nudged me playfully, and I fell off the rock we were sitting on. I managed to pull him down with me, though. He was pretty much lying on top of me. His lips were inches away from mine. His eyes sparkled with an intensity I've never seen before.

"Biana, I've wanted to do this for so long." he whispered.
