Chapter 34 "The Start Of The End"

Days passed, no sound or movement from you. You vanished from his sight before he could stop you.

Now you are out looking for a blackbox that you trust will be there. Were you that desperate? Or do you really have hope?

He was frustrated that you left.

But he trusted you more.

"Baekhyun, What are you doing?" You ask, out of breath.

"Yeah, are you sure this will work?" Tao growls

"99.999% sure." He gives a 'ok' symbol with his hand as he pulls on the cord from below the engine with gears and black wires bunched together

"I don't know if I can hold much longer, I will drop this on you." You mutter

"Geez, hold on you two, just one last-" he pulls on the cord once more, the engine erupting in a loud growl echoing through the trees.

"Woah!" You scream, feeling the body of the engine shake

"Okay okay, it works, can we put it down now?" Tao glares

"Yeah yeah, one sec." He stops the engine and signals the both of you to place it in the body of a makeshift car

"There, no, right there!" Baekhyun yells in frustration when we place it wrong

"Stop yelling!"

"Place it the right way then."

"Oh I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the voices in my head telling me to grab my bow."

"You know what, just give me-"

He stops when Tao groans and turns the engine around and places it correctly in the slot. Connecting the wires.

"Or you can do it, that's cool to."

"What else does this thing need? "Tao complains.

Here you were, trying to fix up a makeshift car that runs on wood and fire. Yet they had been able to make a engine to power along with that. So this was what the elites were working on at the other camp? Baekhyun thought it would be best to fix this thing and use it to get there faster and be able to protect our stuff better. But on the other hand, it was really delaying your trip that you hoped wouldn't take long.

"Just a few more gears, maybe some more wood just in case, oh! I can also add the-"

"And how long is this going to take? I'm not risking being delayed much longer while we are still in the camp that betrayed me, along with you two." You glare at the both of them.

"Listen sweetie, you betrayed us first. And you also shot me in the F*CKING SHOULDER"

"You almost shot me in the head, I still have a bow and arrow if you want me to practice that on you instead."

"Knowing you, you would just shoot me in the shoulder again. I'm fine."

"Guys, please. I just thought we could use this thing to you know- go out with finesse." He raises his eyebrow while eyeing you

"I don't care about finesse, I care about getting to that blackbox."

"And what do you want us to do when we get there? Be a pincushion while we swing our fists? I don't think that's going to work with us." Tao explains

"Well it's going to have too, I'm not giving you any weapons Tao. Find a way to do things with finesse then." Tao growls glaring at Baekhyun

"Let's just fix this thing please, then I can add the finesse on the way." He nods while you just lean against the wall as the two boys rummage for tools and supplies.
