"Must you follow me everywhere I go?"
Tasha sighed deeply, not turning away from her glass as Connor sat on the stool next to her, his hands folded neatly onto his lap.
"Wherever you go, I will always follow." Connor's voice was softer than she expected it to be. Rather than a lost puppy, he now sounded determined and caring.
"If I go to the strip club are you gonna follow me into a room?"
"If I must."

Tasha chuckled, taking another sip from her drink. "Luckily we won't have to worry about that. Having no emotions means no sexual desires either. Though, I have found a few men attractive."
Connor stayed silent at that, causing Tasha to laugh.

"I don't feel anything, Connor." Tasha took another sip from her glass before turning to him. "Just accept it. This is the way things are now."
"No. I'll never stop fighting for you, Tasha."
"You're fighting for a lost cause, lover boy." Tasha feigned a sigh as she touched his shoulder. "You should give up before you get hurt."
"No, because I know you love me." Connor said, stepping closer to her. "You think you can hide that? Even now, your heart rate elevates when you're close to me, your pupils dialate — that's why you've been trying to avoid me. You know I can bring your emotions back."
Tasha's cold demeanour wavered slightly as Connor leaned into her, running his fingers down her arm. "Your telling me you don't feel your heart pounding in your chest? Your human blood and thyrium rushing through your veins, trying to calm your organs down?"
"No." Tasha replied, pulling away slightly as he leaned his lips closer to her ear. "I feel nothing."

"You can try to hurt me all you want, Tasha, but I'm not going anywhere." Connor's brown eyes bore into hers, nothing but determination and love in his stare. "I love you. You never gave up on me."
Tasha shrugged. "Suit yourself, Connor."
"You're only prolonging your pain."
