"Woah, this place is huge," Blue yelled as the group of four stood outside of the large beach house.

"Chill out Blue, now come on we should pick our rooms," Ink said walking up the porch stairs and unlocking the door.

The four of them, Ink, Blue, Dream and Fresh had decided they wanted a little vacation. And what better place to relax than the beach.

Blue and Dream chose a room with a bunk bed, made for children but they thought it would be fun. Ink chose the one closest to the front door and that left Fresh with the one overlooking the pier that was attached the houses section of the beach.

That was one of the reasons they had rented the house for the week, it was kinda closed off from the rest of the island and that private beach was icing on the cake.

Once Fresh put his stuff down he flopped onto the bed and let out a relaxed sigh. "This is gonna be a good week," he muttered to himself while enjoying the softness of the bed.

"Hey Fresh, were going to grab some food to stock the fridge, you coming," Ink asked poking his head through the doorway.

"Nah, you go ahead. I'll stay here and check out the house," he responded sitting up.

"Ok, we'll be back in about an hour," Ink said before grabbing Dream and Blue and going to their rental car.

Once they were gone he got up and went and looked out the window in his room to admire the waves.

What he didn't expect was the figure he saw on the pier. He turned away to make sure he wasn't seeing things and when he looked back it was gone.

"You need this vacay more than you thought man," he said to himself while he walked out into the living room and out onto the balcony enjoying the salt air.

He kept looking over to the pier, he knew he saw something, maybe it was just a weird bird.

But to make himself a little less paranoid he ran down to the sand and to the end of the pier. He didn't see anything in the water but he found a weird scale on the edge.

It looked like a fish scale, he just figured whoever stayed there last caught and cleaned a fish maybe, especially since the wood appeared to be slightly blood stained. But when he thought about it that scale was way to big to be a normal fish.

He also couldn't help but notice how the (f/c) scale didn't look like any fish he knew of.

He turned away to walk back to the house but he just got the strange feeling he was being watched. He shot around and saw a face looking at him out of the water.

As soon as he saw it, it was gone. He ran back over and knelt down to see if he could see it in the water.

He ducked under the wood board to see the same face with a terrified look.

"Hey I'm not gonna hurt ya, it's alright," he said trying to coax it out. Instead it lifted it's head a bit out of the water so that he could now see it was a woman.

"Miss, I promise it's ok. Don't be scared of me," he said convincing her to swim towards him a bit.

From there he could see a (f/c) tail shimmering in the light that leaked from the the boards above, that scale he found was hers.

"You're a mermaid," he asked in awe of her shining scales that grew several places on her upper torso.

"You...you must be shocked huh," she asked shyly. "I'm a literal parasite miss, I've seen weirder," he responded getting a shy smile from her.
