"You lost." Christina pointed out.
"I know!" I shouted.
"To Weasley."
I hit the table with my fist, before whining when it hurt too bad.
"Calm down, it was one game!" She laughed.
"One game?! I-" I blinked. "I guess it was one game.."
Everyone at the study table stopped and stared at me as I picked up my quill again.
"What..?" I asked.
"I'm calling my mother, something's wrong.." Donna said, horrified.
"Wait, what?!" I gasped. "Are you okay?"
"Oh god! Get the nurse!" Blaise cried.
I was frantically looking around.
"I bet she's mind controlled like I was!" Christina joked, and I deadpanned as the group continued to be dramatic.
"Oh god she was all calm and rational! Who is she??!" Chloe shook Theodore's shoulders.
"You're all absolutely hilarious." I slammed my book shut.
"She's back!" Blaise let out a breath.
I hit him with the book.
---
"Oh my gosh!" Donna exclaimed as she was cleaning out her bedside table.
A picture of her, Chloe, Pansy, and I from first or second year.
"No way!" Chloe awed. "Oh god, that hair.."
"What? Your straight black bob with bangs?" I teased.
"No, I meant your rats nest!" She pushed me over and I chuckled.
"Christ.. remember when Chloe liked Blaise??" Donna gasped.
"I knowwwww!" She shook her head.
"Yeah, and remember when (Y/n) swore she'd never like Draco!"
They both began laughing hysterically.
"I did not! I just.. said I preferred not to like him."
"You hated him!" Donna cried between fits of laughter.
"The poor boy was in love with her too!" Chloe added.
"All of those times when he..!" Donna tried to say before she ran out of breath, and whatever she was going to say, made Chloe start heaving with amusement.
"When she was oblivious to everything he did!" Chloe got out.
"What are you even talking about??"
---
Third year, when we lost the game against Ravenclaw because I slipped up and didn't get enough points.
"You really shouldn't beat yourself up, (Y/n).." Donna comforted.
"Yeah, when it's my bloody fault!" I cried out.
"You still knocked that sixth year off his broom!" Draco pointed out.
"I'm useless!" I cried, ignoring him.
"You're not useless, (Y/n)." He said softly.
I looked up at him and smiled.
"You're a great friend when you want to be." I gave his shoulder a pat and skipped off.
---
Donna finished the story, and I took a breath.
"Okay, I see where that's coming from, but that's not a thing that happened regularly!"
"Oh really??" Donna laughed at my answer.
---
There was one time, in the common room that same year.
"Draco! Come study with me in the library?" I asked as I went down the stairs, passing our friends.
They all exchanged looks.
I was busy fixing my shoes while he responded.
Apparently, he was blushing as he stammered out a "Y-yeah sure."
So, we went.
---
"And how do you know I was oblivious then? You weren't there." I argued against Donna.
"Donna and I followed you.. duh!"
---
"Just help with potions?" He asked as he grabbed the last book off of the shelf for me.
I looked around. "Actually um.. there was something I needed to tell you."
Donna and Chloe flipped out behind the bookshelf.
"You can tell me.." he said with anticipation.
I looked down.
"I...uh, I grabbed a book you left lying around and didn't give it back."
Donna almost ran out and punched me.
"Wait.. that was the one I've been looking for-" he began to yell, only to be shushed.
His eyes went wide again. "Is that why you took me to the library?? So I couldn't yell at you??"
I gave a smile. "Here's your book~!"
---
"That was just a normal interaction!" I insisted.
"Bullshit!" Chloe exclaimed. "Even when he was pretending to hate you, it was obvious!"
---
First year.
Dining hall.
"She's unbearably hot tempered! Not to mention petty and rude!" Draco spat.
"she's stealing your bread."
"I mean, who eats cereal with ice in the milk??"
"Draco, she's reaching across the table and stealing the bread rolls on your plate." Blaise tried to point out again.
"Can you imagine being so-" he looked as I grabbed another, two in one hand and another in my mouth.
I giggled at his expression, muffled by the bread roll as he stared at me.
---
"He was just angry!" I insisted.
---
His face was bright red with anger as I slowly put the one I was stealing back.
"Keep it! I don't want your filthy germs anyways!" He spat as he threw the bread towards me.
---
"No, that's how you remember it, (Y/n)." Donna shook her head.
---
His face was bright red, unable to function after he heard my laugh as I slowly put the one I was stealing back.
"Ah! Just...Keep it! I don't want your germs all over my food." He stammered out as he pushed the bread towards me.
---
"...okay I see your point." I admitted.
"That boy's loved you forever.. and it's insane how you two fell for each other at different times, but still manage to make it work so well." Chloe pointed out.
I smiled to myself.
"Yeah.. I guess we do."
