"So you all settled in?"
Wendy Best walked to Matty and gave her a hug.
"Thank you, Matty. You didn't have to put us up. We could have stayed at the motel."
"No way. Wouldn't that just look great.
We invite the Premier and his wife here for New Years and we make you stay in the motel.
We are more than happy to have you both here."
"Speaking of both of us, where is my husband?"
Matty laughed.
"They ran to Tucker's to pick up my wonderful booze free champagne."
Matty stuck out her tongue and rubbed her belly.
"You guys need to hurry up so Mommy can have a drink."
"You are so lucky, Matty. Danny and I have been trying for a couple years now and nothing."
She took a deep breath.
"We are starting to consider adopting."
"Don't give up hope, hun. Bill and I were trying for a while. We have had so much pressure on us and you and Daniel have more pressure than you can imagine.
Especially with you both still so young."
Wendy laughed.
"I am only a year younger than you, Matty. But yea, Danny has a lot of pressure on him, being such a young premier."
At that moment, Bill and Daniel came into the house.
"Close the door," Matty barked.
