texting Tuesday

Bill had just dried the last plate and put it in the cupboard, when Matty walked into the kitchen.

"I just got a text from Yolanda. She wants us to come to the Pub for a beer."

Bill looked suspicious.

"What do you think they are up to?"

He hung the dishtowel on the rack on the side of the cupboard, next to the sink.

"Why do you always think there is an ulterior motive?"

Bill kissed Matty, as he walked by her.

"Because we live in Tuckamore Bay?"

As he walked into the living room, he heard Nanny Dove laugh.

"What?"

"Youse looks powerfully pretty in yer frilly red apron, dere Willam. Really makes yer eyes pop out."

Bill rolled his eyes and took off the apron. He tossed it to Matty.

"You did that on purpose."

Matty laughed as she hung the apron on a hook, just inside the doorway.

"I didn't want you to get your jeans wet, hun."

"Yea right."

"But it really does make your eyes pop."

She hugged Bill and rubbed his chest.

"Really turns me on," she sighed, in her sexiest voice.

Bill turned away from Matty.

He grabbed a pack of cigarettes from the desk, lit one and headed for the door.

"Bye," he chirped, as he left the house.

Matty grabbed a light jacket from the back of the desk chair.

"Somebody is a little sensitive," she laughed.

"Must be 'is time of da month," Nanny Dove smiled.

"Youse knows 'ow 'e gets dis time of the month. Cramps and all."

She started laughing.

"Ise cracks me up."

"See you later, old lady," Matty cracked, as she opened the door.

"Be sure youse gits Willam 'ome before midnight. Youse knows what 'es bes like dis time of da month, ifin 'e don't get a gud nites sleep. Ise will git the Midol and 'eating pad ready for 'im."

"Night Nanny," Matty sighed, as she left the house, the sound of Nanny Dove's laughter fading behind her.

"Such a shit disturber."

"Likes youse isn't," Nanny Dove's voice echoed in Matty's head.

"Evening all," Matty barked, as she walked into Dove's Pub.
