Bill rearranged the papers in front of him, picking up one last piece.
"I know it has been a long afternoon, everyone, but there is still one issue sitting on the table that we have to deal with. A very important issue.
And I will pass this over to the Bay's legal representative, so she can tell us about it and I can give my voice a rest."
"Thank you, Bill."
Matty looked around the table, as she spoke.
"As some of you may be aware and for those who aren't, this will be something new. Anyway, we all remember the events of October 5, 2020. The day that Simon Hirst and his apes came to the Bay."
"And got dere asses 'anded to dem," Wike Rideout joked.
He high fived his brother.
"Are you finished?" Matty glared.
Wycliff smiled slightly.
"Yea. Sorry."
Matty winked at him.
"But we did kick ass."
She took a breath and continued.
"Anyway, when all the dust settled, there was an agreement made between the Bay and the representatives of Simon Hirst. Without getting into all the nuts and bolts of the agreement, there is one part of the agreement that applies to all the residents of the Bay."
"That would be the cash settlement?" Lindsay Pike half asked.
"Exactly. For those that don't know, there has been a one time payment of fifty million dollars for damages and restitution for the Bay.
We, as a committee, have to decide exactly how this money is to be distributed."
