It was nearly nine in the evening by the time Matty pulled her car back up in front of the lighthouse.

"I wants to tank youse Matty, fur takin' me to the 'ospital," Bill sputtered.

"Ise don't thinks Ise could have done it without youse."

Matty laughed as she opened the driver's side door.

"Well I hardly think you are any condition to drive."

"I am fine, me dear. Never felt better," Bill smiled, trying to open his door.

The doctor in Deer Lake had given Bill some painkillers that would also help him sleep. They were quickly kicking in.

Matty opened the passenger side door and helped Bill out of the car.

"Come on. Let's get you to bed."

"Good idea," Bill smiled, as he attempted to wink at Matty.

"I said you, big boy. Not us."

She helped him inside and brought him to the bedroom.

"Now you get undressed and get some sleep."

Bill turned, smiling.

"Youse wanna tuck mes in?"

Matty rolled her eyes and closed the bedroom door.

"Goodnight Bill. I will see you in the morning."

Matty looked at Nanny Dove.

"Keep an eye on him, will you. Come and get me if there is any issues."

"Ise sure 'e will sleep thru da night, Matty. But Ise will bes 'ere."

Matty headed for the front door.

"I have one more thing to do before I call it a night."

Bill awoke the next morning feeling refreshed.

His left nipple was still a little tender, but he was sure he could fight through the pain. He remembered the doctor saying that he could take some ibuprofen, if there was some tenderness. He decided to take it with his coffee.

The sun was shining outside and there was very little wind and even the seagulls seemed to be quiet.

Bill put on a pair sleep pants and a t-shirt and walked out into the living room.

"Morning Nanny Dove," he smiled.

"Its a beautiful morning, isn't it?"

She just laughed and went back to knitting.

Bill turned to go to the kitchen to make coffee, but Matty was standing in the doorway, blocking the entrance.

Bill cautiously stepped around her. "You look tired," he commented.

"You have a hard night?"
