Chapter 17: Cloaked In Silence

Venom Snake's POV

Me and DD are in the chopper, I was preparing myself for my mission to help Huey Emmerich defect. But then Ocelot called me.

Ocelot: Boss, this is important. We've reports of a crack sniper at large in the Afghan wilderness. The Soviets call this sniper Tixij - "Quiet." There are never any sightings, and only corpses are left behind... The Soviets have already lost a number of officers. You'd uh... best watch your step.

Venom Snake: Thanks for the heads up, Ocelot.

Me and DD get out of the chopper. Since I'm not using D-Horse for the mission, I decided to call in a car. I get in the car, DD gets in the passenger seat. I then start driving, we make it to Aabe Shifap Ruins. I hear a bullet hit the car. Me and DD quickly get out and take behind cover.

Kaz: Sniper?! Where?

I look over the rocks I'm behind, I see a light reflect off the the top of the building at the ruins. That's where the sniper is. It shoots back at me, I duck back into cover. I take one last look. I get a better view of the sniper. It looks like.... a woman? She shoots me again, but once again I duck back into cover.

Kaz: Boss, you ok?!

Venom Snake: I'm fine.

Kaz: Could it be that sniper. Quiet?!

Ocelot: Quiet, our silent assassin... Where's the sniping point...?

Kaz: Boss, focus on your objective. You need to make contact with Emmerich. Get out of that sniper's kill zone and head to Serak Power Plant.

Venom Snake: I'm taking her down.

Kaz: Boss?

Venom Snake: Huey can wait. I can take down the woman.

Kaz: Are you sure?

Venom Snake: I'm sure.

Ocelot: Good luck Boss. She's one hell of a sniper.

She shoots again, I'm still in cover. I get out my binoculars, I zoom in at her location. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. This is the same woman who tried to kill me back at the hospital!

Venom Snake: How the hell are you still alive?!

She's also...... almost naked. Just her bra and panties, and her gear. That's all she had on her. I try not to let that distract me. I get out my sniper rifle and aim at Quiet. I shoot her, making her fall down. She jumps off the building and starts running, she then disappears.

Venom Snake: What the?

Ocelot: The enemy sniper just disappeared...? Zero visibility... If you can't mark 'em, you don't stand a chance! Stay sharp!

Venom Snake: I'll try!

After I say that, I feel sharp pain on my hip, I got shot. I roll back in cover. I spray my injury and get out my sniper rifle. DD barked, giving me Quiet's location. I shoot Quiet again. Once again, she disappeared. I leave my cover and look around.

Kaz: Look out, Boss! Take cover! There's a laser sight trained on your head!

I quickly get in cover as Quiet shoots, once again, DD marks Quiet's location, I shoot back. I got her, she then disappears again. This time, she goes to the water, and starts dancing? A rainbow is forming. It kinda distracts me.

Ocelot: Hm? What's she doing? Is she... bathing?

Venom Snake: I'm not sure.

I take the opportunity to shoot her. She teleports after falling. I feel like someone's behind me, I hear a grenade, I quickly dive out of the way. I take this opportunity to get close and CQC her. Once again she teleports.
