Kazuha had spent the entire school day in the back of classrooms, silent and confused. After leaving the gym when Yoimiya told him the truth about his friend, he found himself lost and in deep grief. He wanted to leave the school, but he knew he couldn’t ruin his attendance record and skip it, so he persisted He didn’t bother to pay attention to the classes, seeing it as useless and a waste of his time. He kept his hoodie on at all times even when some teachers wanted him to take it off.

He would just ignore them, not caring and they would eventually give up. Except for Eula who screamed, “Vengeance will be mine!” and then gave up. He was surprised by the passion nonetheless he delved into his grief.

He would spend between periods just running around, seeming to look for something or hide in a closet till the bell rang. He wanted to hide in the darkness, the feeling of everyone else irritating or confusing him. Time seemed to just keep on going but for Kazuha it stopped, leaving him stuck in an endless loop of confusion and overwhelming grief.

Then he hit a point where he almost broke out but, in a way, he wasn’t proud of. When running around between 4th and 5th period, he accidentally ran into a student. The student had deflected, being built like a rock, and caused Kazuha to fall on the ground. He groaned, looking up to see Zhongli, standing beside Childe.

“Oh, sorry Kazuha-"

“SHUT UP!” Kazuha shouted out, his grief turning into anger. Zhongli was taken aback, startled so much he almost knocked into Childe. Childe tries to intervene, mad at Kazuha.

“Hey, don’t talk to my boyfriend like that!” Childe exclaimed, rolling his sleeves to seem intimidating. A small crowd of students surrounded, curious about the situation.

“SHUT THE FUCK UP!” Kazuha cried out brashly. Childe’s eyes glinted with anger, Kazuha felt his stomach curling.

He never swore and when he did, he always felt bad and immense guilt for it. Mixed with the grief, it created an unpleasant sensation in his stomach, causing it to rise and spill out of his mouth.

“Bleurgh!” Kazuha barfed out, chunks splattering across the floor, hitting Zhongli's shoes.

“OH no! My Doc Martens!” Zhongli cried out, seeming upset by this.

Kazuha groaned, then he saw students around him, and it made him feel woozy. He also saw Childe getting angrier and he knew it was time to book it. So, with all his remaining strength he got up and left, going to his class and avoid the couple for the rest of the day.

Eventually, the long school day ended. Kazuha sat through the car ride back home, letting Beidou drive the two home, sensing that something was up. Kazuha was still upset and heartbroken, his eyes wanting to cry but he didn’t have the energy to do so after a day of panic, sadness, and spontaneous moments of anger.

Kazuha never was the kind of person to be very emotional, always either keeping it inside or having small reactions. Tomo’s death changed all that for him, bringing him to hell and back and putting him in the worse environment to feel such emotions. He just wanted to go home and get some rest, then cry and then panic some more.

The two reached the house and Kazuha dashed in, unlocking the door, and heaving straight to his room, ignoring the dishes or chores that need to be dealt with or else Beidou will make the house a mess again. He didn’t feel like doing anything and he just wanted to sleep, to try and forget the pain that is Tomo’s death. He reached his clean room, put down his bag, and slide into his bed, covering himself in comfy bed sheets. There he slept.

Or at least tried too till Beidou started knocking.

“Kazuha! We need to talk!” Beidou said, knocking on his door with such brute force, he was slightly afraid she’ll break it.
