Hayley's pov

We arrive back at the compound and Klaus appears, looking surprised at the sight of Kayla up and standing. "I see you've risen from your coma, Kayla" he says making her nod "I have, my body needed time to heal" Kayla replies before looking around at the compound.

"So care to fill me in on what's happened since I've been in a coma?" she asks turning to look at us "of course but perhaps we should go somewhere private to discuss it" Klaus suggests glancing at me and Elijah before looking at her. "I thought this place was private?" Kayla questioned with a frown "it is but right now it remains unknown if we're having enemies watching us and what we're going to tell you needs to be spoken out of New Orleans" Klaus replies "come on, Kayla. Let's go for a drive" I say making her nod "Elijah and I will accompany you both" Klaus states "what about the compound?" I ask "Marcel will stay on guard while we're gone" he replies just as Marcel walks in.

"Kayla Labonair, in the flesh. It's good to see you're finally out of that coma" Marcel states "thank you, Marcel. It feels good to be on my toes again and I'm just glad I'm not dead" Kayla replies with a smile. "Marcel, we need to go on a little trip out of New Orleans so I need you to mind the compound. Alert us if my mother or Finn tries anything or any of her lackies" Klaus says as he turns to Marcel "of course" he replies before the four of us walk out the compound.

We walk over to Elijah's car and get in "is your sister okay?" Kayla asks looking at me "she's fine, more than fine" I respond with a smile. "I take it, Kol's with your sister?" she guesses making me nod "he is" I respond "good to know" she replies as Elijah starts driving.

45 minutes later...

We stop at a small diner, five minutes away from the border of New Orleans. We head in and order ourselves a pot of coffee except for Kayla who orders a burger and fries as she's hungry.

"So what's been going on?" Kayla asks as soon as her food is brought out to her "it's a long story" I say making her shrug as she pops a fry in her mouth "well, I've got time so talk" she says gesturing for us start.

I glance at Elijah and Klaus before opening my mouth and starting to explain everything that's happened while she was in a coma.

20 minutes later...

I finally finish explaining everything to Kayla "oh Hayley I'm so sorry that happened to you and Davina" she says as she pulls me in for a hug. "I can't believe the nerve of that bitch of a mother of yours or those witches who dared to hurt you and your sister and try to kill your babies. I want to strangle that bitch" she seethes clenching her fists.

"Get in line love" Klaus says with a smirk "I can't believe Davina had twins though. Bet you didn't expect that" Kayla says with a smile. "No, we didn't" Elijah replies "it's sweet though, they'll always have each other and Hope of course. I bet the three of them will have the best bond" Kayla says with a small smile as she looks at me.

I feign a smile "if they're anything like me and Davina or the Mikaelson's then they will have the best bond" I say "so Kol and Davina are with the babies right now along with Rebekah who is helping look after them?" she questions looking between us "yes, I didn't want to deprive my brother of being away from his children and his love. I don't think he would've left them willingly either way" Klaus states "he would've kicked up a fuss if you even suggested he leave Davina and the twins to come help us" Elijah interjects "so you're okay with being away from Hope?" Kayla asks looking at me and Klaus.

"No but someone had to make the sacrifice of being away from their child and we just so happened to make that sacrifice. I mistreated Kol a lot in the past but I didn't want to force him to make this kind of sacrifice. It was my turn to make a sacrifice even if it killed me on the inside to do so" Klaus explains "well it was very noble of you" she comments making him nod.
