HEY GUYS!!, I wasn't really planning on updating Patches today. But I couldn't let y'all suffer any longer, worrying about our little guy. So here's a short chapter to ease your minds. ;

Kirstie and Kevin runs down the hallway to the bathroom door. She tries to open the door, only to find it locked.
"Patch, honey open the door." She calls through the door.
"AAHHHH!!" They hear the door knob jiggle and the door shakes. Patches whines loudly then starts crying. {Help me!!}
"That's Little Bits". Kevin says looking at Kirstie.
"Oh Lord. I don't have a key for this door. Patches, Sweetie, can you unlock the door for Kirstie?" She ask.
They hear the door shake again, "NAAAAA!!" He yells between sobs. {It's too hard}
"That means no." Kevin says and Kirstie nods.
"I've got an idea." Kevin says as he turns and runs to the kitchen.
"K...K...Ki....KiT?" Patches says near the door.
Kirstie smiles and rubs her hand on the door. "I'm here, Baby. I'm not leaving you. We're gonna get you out."
"Maybe this will work." Kevin said coming back from the kitchen with a butter knife in his hand.
"Kevin, he tried to say my name. He called me 'Kit'." She said smiling with tears in her eyes.
"I've noticed the more comfortable he gets here, the more he's been trying to form single syllable words. But I don't think his undeveloped vocal cords will ever allow him to talk properly. The other day I think he called me 'Keb'." Kevin said as he worked on unlocking the door.
They could hear him crying.
"Bless his heart, hurry Kevin." She said.
"Just.. about..... GOT IT!!" He yells as the door comes open.
Patches was sitting in the floor crying, rubbing his eyes with his fist. Kirstie runs in and stoops down in front of him.
"Oh Sweetie. It's O.K., we're here." She said grabbing him into a hug.
"You alright, Little One?" Kevin said rubbing him on the head.
He nods as he tightly hugs Kirstie.
"Well, come on. Let's get you up." Kevin says helping him to stand.
Patches stops and gets to sniffing the air.
Kirstie then catches the smell too. "Kevin?"
Kevin sniffs. "OH CRAP!!! MY CHICKEN!!!!!"
