Samantha's POV
I groaned as I felt someone shake me awake. "A few more minutes..." I said, swatting tirelessly at the person."Sam. Wake up." The voice was smooth and silky, a distant buzz in my head. The warmth radiating from my intruder pulled me father under into warm darkness.
Just as a dream was about to form, lips pressed against mine. I jumped and opened my eyes in surprise, facing my unknown kisser.
Cameron.
"Well. That's one way to get you up." He chuckled. I groaned, looking up at him. Warm light leaked through the window shades, splashing on his skin making his eyes seemingly sparkle.
I looked at the clock. 5:06 am "CAMERON! WHAT THE-?!" I yelled. He clapped his hand over my mouth, interrupting me. "Shh!" You don't want to wake anyone up!"
I glared at him. "Mfndhnahdbdhdh." I mumbled, my voice muffled by his hand. "What?" He asked, taking his hand away. "I said, why on earth are you waking me up this early?" I asked.
"I wanna show you something." He said, getting up off the bed. I groaned. "First you scare the shit out of me in my sleep and now you're taking me somewhere. This is totally safe." I said, flipping the covers off me.
"It's not like I'm going to murder you." He replied, laughing. "You could." I said, pouting. He just sighed, grabbing my hand and pulling me out off the room.
I shivered as my feet walked across the cold wood floor. Cameron lead me down the halls, some of which I had never been down. He stopped suddenly, making me bump into him.
"Sorry." He mumbled. I rubbed my head where it had hit him, looking straight forward. The hall was a dead end.
"Oooohhhh." I said sarcastically. "It's a wall! My god Cameron, I don't have time for thi-" I said, walking away. But before I could escape, he grabbed my hand, wrenching me back towards him.
"It's not just a wall." He said. He then reached up and tugged on a chain I hadn't noticed before. The chain pulled down stairs, sunlight spilling into the room.
It was a staircase leading up to the roof.
Cameron smiled and grabbed my hand, pulling me up with him. I shivered as cold air surrounded me suddenly, cursing that I hadn't brought a sweater.
I was only wearing a crop top and shorts, goosebumps forming up and down my arms and legs.
I stood there as Cameron sat down near the ledge, letting his feet dangle over the side.
It looked unreal for a second. Cameron's figure shadowed by the sunrise coming up over the ocean, red, orange and yellow lights painting the sky in a beautiful canvas of colours.
The ocean was mirroring the scene, making the water look like fire, reaching its way to lick the beach's shore.
I smiled as I went to sit down next to Cameron, waving my feet over the edge.
"It's beautiful." I breathed. Cameron smiled. "Worth me waking you up?" He asked. I laughed, leaning my head on his shoulder.
"Definitely. But I know you Cameron. You didn't invite me up here for the view. There's something else." I said, feeling his arm wrap around me.
He laughed a little. "I hate it when you're right." I chuckled a little too. "I'm just nervous about finals. I mean, we've worked so hard for this. What if we lose?"
I sighed. "Don't be nervous. You'll do amazing. You always do." Cameron just look off into the distance, the reflection of the sunset glowing in his pupils.
"I'm not sure this time. It's a team effort, I know. But I'm the captain. What am I supposed to do? What if they all turn on me if we lose?" Cameron asked, running his hands through his hair.
I pursed my lips, deep in thought. "Cameron." I breathed, reaching out to hold his hand. "You knew what you were getting into when you took the captain position."
"What if I didn't?" Cameron asked. I sighed. "Listen to me Cameron. You're strong. You're smart. You're the best baseball player I have ever seen. You're loyal. I love you." I said, squeezing his hand.
"Samantha, that's not-" Cameron insisted. "CAMERON ALEXANDER DALLAS!" I snapped. "WHAT?!" He yelled, jumping away.
"Listen to me. You're going to do great. I know it." I promised, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"Sam...." He said, searching for words. I sighed. "Just shutup and kiss me." I said, moving closer to him. He smirked, and complied.
The warmth of the sun surrounded me as our lips moved in sync, Cameron hands around my waist. I breathed as his mouth left mine, his kisses trailing down my neck.
My hands tightened around his neck, as I heard footsteps come up the metal stairs.
"WHAT THE HELL?!" Someone screamed making me gasp. That, and Cameron had just left a huge hickie on my neck.
"Cameron. Cameron." I hissed pushing him back. He frowned, looking at the intruder. I heard him curse under his breath as he recognized the person.
Shawn.
