Samantha's POV
"So... exactly how am I going to fulfill this favour?" I asked, looking at Nash. The playful smirk on his lips sparked a nervous feeling in my gut, but I resisted the urge to run.

I had gotten enough of those smirks from Cameron, but for some reason, seeing it on Nash sent shivers down my spine.

"Oh, it's simple really." Nash said, leaning back on the counter, trying so hard to be nonchalant. The only thing that gave him away was his lips. They were twitching, trying to keep his intimidating smirk on his lips.

"You have to help me get together with Emily." He said, breaking his smirk to reveal a full fledged smile.

"Umm, sorry Grier but do you see me with a bow and arrow wearing a diaper?" I asked.

Cameron chuckled as Nash's smile fell into a grimace.

"Listen! I'm serious!" Nash said. "I really like her." He mumbled, rubbing his arm nervously.

"Ahhhhh... there's my boy!!" Cameron said, sprinting over to Nash and shaking him jokingly. "WATCH OUT EMILY HERE COMES YOUR PR-" Cameron yelled, before Nash clamped his hand over his mouth.

"Okay, okay." I said. "So exactly how do I do that?" "Emily and I are going to this carnival. So, your job is to get her and I alone so I can ask her." Nash explained.

"Alone?" Cameron asked.

Nash sighed. "Yea, Hayes and Emma are going. So are Grace and Shawn." "And now we will be too?" Cameron asked.

"We?" I asked. "You're still grounded. Not to mention if Grace sees you there she's going to have your head on the wall in her room." I said.

"Relax baby, I've done this a million times before." Cameron smirked, sliding over and putting his arm around me. "Trust me. Nobody will even know I'm there." He promised.

Nash and I scoffed simultaneously. "Yeah right."

---

I was still debating ideas in my head when the clock hit 6:45. Nash jumped to his feet, grabbing his shoes and jacket. "In a hurry?" Cameron asked, sitting up on the couch. "Have to go pick up Emily." He called, racing out the door.

I chuckled. "Someone's excited." Cameron smiled as he headed for the window. "C'mon, you're driving me." "Why can't you drive yourself?" I asked, following him.

"Because," he said, jumping down from the window onto the grass. The window was slightly elevated from the ground, but it only took stepping on some rocks beside the window and hosting yourself up.

"If I drove, my car would be gone." Cameron said, grabbing my hips and swinging me down into the ground. "And then my mom would notice I'm missing."

"I'm surprised she hasn't noticed already." I said, lacing my fingers with his as we started the trek back to my house.

Cameron shrugged. "I told her I was doing homework and locked my door. I left after supper so she shouldn't realize until around 11 when my lights are on and my music's blaring."

I laughed. All of a sudden, Shawn's car appeared from the top of the hill. "Shit!" Cameron called, side tackling me. I grunted as our bodies clashed together, rolling down the side of a ditch.

As the headlights disappeared in the distance, Cameron slowly detangled himself from me. "Okay... OW!" I said swatting him. "Grace was in that car." He explained, helping me up.

"I don't care if the fucking president was in that car, it doesn't give you the right to tackle me!" I said, hissing as I wiped away blood from a scratch on my arm.

Cameron, of course, was untouched. "You okay?" He asked, grabbing my arm to examine the scratch. "I'm fine, I've gotten worse scratches in basketball. Can we just get out of this ditch?" I asked.

Cameron nodded, grabbing my hand and helping me up from the steep ditch side on to the sidewalk. "Sorry." Cameron mumbled, his brown eyes soft.

"It's fine. I'm just... stressed I guess." "What's new?" Cameron chuckled. I shoved him jokingly, the smile on my face growing.

"So, what's the plan exactly?" I asked. "What do you mean?" "I don't know, what's the intricate rubric that we're following here? I know we have to avoid Grace and Shawn and help Nash ask Emily out." I explained.

"Don't forget my parents." Cameron added. "Yeah well-" "And avoid Hayes and Emma." "Well that ones not really necessary but-" "And-"

"Okay I get it!" I insisted. "Well you wanted to know." Cameron mumbled. I sighed. "Okay, well how are we going to do that?" I asked, my legs already getting tired from the steep incline.

I wish we went the other way; it didn't have any up hills.

"Oh Sam, sweet, sweet Sam." Cameron chuckled, shaking his head. "What?" I asked. "Don't you know me at all? What do I always do when we have a goal to reach?"

"Umm... think about it and find the best strategy to do it?" I asked. "No. That's you." Cameron said, smiling. "Then what?!" I asked, completely lost.

"Why, wing it of course."

Emma's POV
"No..." I said, tossing another shirt onto my bedroom floor. Hayes was taking me to a carnival that came to town, and I really wanted to look nice.

Truth is, I finally felt ready to try to get back together with Hayes. I was finally down the road of self-love and motivation. I was prepared.

Of course, I was way further from my goal then I had originally planned, but I couldn't help but be impatient.

I sighed, pulling on a shirt I had laid aside 45 minutes ago, but wanted to see if that was really the best option.

As I got ready, a feeling of nervousness rose in my chest; what if Hayes didn't want to get back together?

I knew that Nash said he was planning on waiting, but something told me that I left him standing out in the rain too long.

What if he just wanted to be friends? What if he accepted the fact that we would never get back together, no matter what anyone else told him?

I let my worries drift off in the empty space as I heard my doorbell ring. I took a deep breath, trying not to drown in the self doubt I had been working so hard to keep away.

Swallowing hard on a lump of emotions, I walked to the door. With my hands on the cold silver knob, I took one more breath.

Here goes nothing.
