(a/n: I'm on a Harry Potter kick, so the direwolf's name is Minerva.)

Your brows furrowed as you entered your chambers. Nothing. You let out a sigh of frustration. Your direwolf had a habit of disappearing. She always reappeared, but you really needed to find her. You needed her with you on the journey to King's Landing with your father and sisters. "Minerva!" you called out, hoping she hadn't gone far. You looked throughout the castle and Godswood. No Minerva. You called her name time and time again until you finally found her. When you did, you were taken back. She was lying on the ground, curled into a little ball, right next to the Hound who was leaning up against a tree. You stopped short, unsure as to whether it was wise to approach Sandor.

It seemed he hadn't noticed you yet because he was muttering to the direwolf, running his large hand over her sleek fur. The very sight made you smile and forget your worries. You walked up to the pair of them. Sandor looked up at you in surprise. "Ya should keep a better eye on yer pet," he told you gruffly and you chuckled. "Minerva is a bit mischievous, though trained well. I am amazed to find her out here with you. She is not fond of men apart from my family. She does not even care for Maester Luwin," you explained.

Sandor wasn't really listening. He was still amazed that you were speaking to him willingly. The rest of your family ignored him, probably out of fear. Not you. You had boldly approached him and began talking. Sandor hadn't even realized he was still petting the sleeping direwolf. "Hound?" He snapped his head back to met yours. You gave him a smile and asked your question again.

The two of you ended up talking for hours. Well, it was mostly you talking and him listening, occasionally chiming in with a question of his own or some comment. It didn't even bother you that the sun had begun to set. You were too engrossed in your conversation with the man everyone else viewed as a heartless murderer.

"Joffrey must be a terrible person to guard. I do not know how you manage it without killing him," you were saying when Minerva finally woke up. She stretched and looked between you and Sandor. You didn't see her get up and move behind you. She began running but soon noticed you weren't following her. Excitedly, she ran back and jumped up, her paws hitting your back just right. You fell forward, right into Sandor.

Your forehead hit the tree and the rest of your body was nearly flush against his. "Ouch," you grumbled, moving your head away from the tree. You blushed furiously when you realized that, because of how you fell, Sandor's face was level with your breasts. You pushed back off the tree, trying to save face. You would have fallen flat on your bottom if Sandor hadn't caught you. Now, you were basically sitting in his lap.

Your face felt like it was on fire and you could make out the red on Sandor's underneath his dark beard. You were frozen. You couldn't bring yourself to look away from his brown eyes. After a moment, you came back to your senses. You began stuttering out an apology as you scrambled off his lap. You'd never been that close to a man before and you certainly never expected to be that close to Sandor Clegane. EVER.

He let go of you, sitting there in disbelief. Minerva let out a growl, catching your attention again. "Minerva," you mumbled, causing Sandor to finally snap out of his daze. "Ya got some blood. Come on." He stood up and offered a hand to help you. You felt yourself blushing again as you took his hand and got up from the ground. Sandor let you to the servants quarters, where he was being forced to sleep during the royal family's stay in Winterfell.

Minerva immediately jumped onto the bed and laid down again. She kept her eyes on you and Sandor as he lead you over to his wash basin. After sitting you both down, he took his cloth and dipped it in the water before carefully bringing it up to your forehead. "How bad is it?" You really didn't care, but you knew your mother would say something about it. So would Robb and your father's ward Theon. "I think you'll live," came the reply. Sandor's voice was rougher than his normal rasp and you knew it was because he was uncomfortable.

It only took him a moment to clean the blood from your forehead. "Not too bad. Sure you've had worse." You chuckled, grateful he was able to lighten the atmosphere in his own special way. "Thank you." You smiled at him before backing away and heading for the door. "Minerva, come," you ordered, surprised the wolf actually got up from the bed. Instead of following you however, she walked over to Sandor. You groaned and took a step toward her.

"Minerva, come," you commanded a bit harsher. She still ignored you. You had to remind yourself that she was still a pup. You closed the distance between you and the wolf, but just as you reached for her, she darted out of the way, ending up behind you yet again. This time, when she jumped, Sandor was prepared. He caught you with ease, making sure you didn't get hurt. Your head didn't hit anything that time, but your lips did. Sandor's.

Youpulled away almost instantly and blushed again. What was it with your wolf?"I am so sorry! Please forgive me." You got up and nearly ran fromthe room. Sandor watched you go, but for once he wasn't upset. He could tell bythe look in your eyes that you hadn't hated the feeling of his lips on yours. You were just embarrassed. As the door shut behind you, Sandor actually smiled. The journey to King's Landing was most definitely going to be an interestingone. h((
