MADISON's POV

"We will pursue the engagement."

That hits me harder than I thought.

I thought I was ready to hear this. I know this will happen but not that soon.

Sobrang nagmamadali si Dad sa mga bagay bagay.

Nakarating din kaagad dito ang break up namin ni Grant. Imposible naman na malaman niya, dahil tatlo lang naman kami ni Kuya Malt at Kuya Maze ang nakakaalam. Ayaw kong isipin na mayroon siyang mga matang nagbabantay sa amin, lalo na sa akin pero paano niya nalaman? For sure na hindi sasabihin ng dalawa kong kapatid.

"It's time to meet your fiancè."

"Dad! Huwag nating diktahan ang mga desisyon ni Madison! Pumayag na kami sa gusto mo!" Kuya Maze exclaimed.

Makikita mo sa kaniya ang labis na pagtitimpi ng galit. He's my protector and he will not let anyone take my happiness away from me, even Dad.

Katatapos pa naman nitong ma-badtrip sa akin, tapos ito na naman, panibago na namang ikakagalit.

Ayaw lang niya na matulad ako sa kanila. They were already engaged to someone they didn't even know.

Kuya Malt was engaged to the only heir of Sheng Xi Group, the owner of Sheng Xi Malls all across Asia. He has no choice at all, because he is the eldest son of Marcus Russell.

Whatever our dad wants, he gets.

Kuya Maze was engaged to the daughter of the owner Lewis Malcom Technologies. It was his third or fourth engagement. He calls off his engagement many times. The only reason that makes him stay with his recent engagement is that his restaurants will be closed if he will not follow dad's orders. He loves his restaurants more than anything in the world, that's why he agreed.

Another reason is that, to avoid this kind of arrangement again with me. Pumayag sila to be engaged because the only people who are most likely to be engaged are the women in the family. So, to protect me, they agree with dad. But, here we go now.

"Maze, calm down." sita ni Kuya Malt dito. Kalmado pa si Kuya Malt.

Tumigil si Kuya Maze pero nakatiim bagang pa rin.

"What do you think, Hija?" Dad asked me. He's really into this.

Hindi ko alam 'yong consequences if ever na pumayag ako sa gusto ni Dad pero hindi ko rin naman alam kung gaano ako pipilitin at gigipitin hanggang sa mapapayag niya ako sa gusto niya.

Dapat ba ngayon na ako mag-decide?

"Dad-" singit ni Kuya Maze ngunit hindi ko na ito hinayaan pang magsalita.

"I'll think about it, Dad."

Nakita ko ang pagsilay ng ngiti sa mukha ng aking ama. Gayundin ang pagsimangot ng dalawa kong kapatid at ang mga titig nang nag-aalalang si Mommy. Si Daddy lang talaga ang may gusto nito. Kung majority wins lang ang pagdedesisyon, walang fixed marriage na magaganap. But then, my father will not let him lose in this situation.

He will also assume that I would agree to him and he would still proceed with his plans.

"You still have to be with us during the conference."

Hindi na ako umimik.

Nag-walk out rin si Kuya Maze. For sure, galit na naman ang kuya ko. Shit!

"Madison Kaylee!" pukaw sa aking atensyon ni Kuya Maze.

Akala ko umalis na ito ng tuluyan at bumalik na ng Manila.

Kasalukuyan akong nagmumuni-muni sa terrace nang pumasok ulit ito ng mansyon.
