luke had seen her in the halls at school. he had seen her at the grocery store when he was with his mom. he had even seen her when he was at the movies with his friends. but when he saw her in the stands at one of his home games, he knew he needed to talk to her.

she had seen him at school. she had seen him when she was at the mall with her friends. she had even seen him when she was at dinner with her family. y/n and her friend had gone to a hockey game in hopes of seeing him. she couldn't believe her eyes when she saw him wink at her through the glass during warm ups.

"that was such a good game!" you excitedly say as you turn to your friend.

"it really was! the other team had no chance," she said shaking her head.

you and your friend make your way out of your seats, and down to where the familys of players waited. you were hoping to catch luke before he left, wanting to talk to him.

players slowly made their way out of the locker room with wet hair and in their suits. luke had walked out and immediately caught your eye. he made his way over to you, dropped his hockey bag, and stopped directly in front of you.

"hey," he breathed.

"hi." you said, not knowing what else to say.

your friend nudged you with her elbow and pointed to the door, signaling that she would be waiting outside. you were thankful that you were finally going to get some alone time with him.

"you know, i can't seem to get you out of my head. i see you everywhere i go," he confesses.

"i've seen you everywhere too," you say.

"well, maybe we can see more of each other on a date?" luke says with raised eyebrows.

"i would really like that," you say, smiling.

the two of you exchange numbers, and plan to meet at the movies on saturday for your first date. you don't want to leave your friend waiting any longer, so you give him a quick hug goodbye and you press a kiss to his cheek. someone clears their throat from behind you, and you turn around. it was two boys looking between you and luke.

"jack," luke hisses, shoving the boy.

"are you lukes girlfriend?" the other boy asks.

"no" you say.

"not yet at least," you hear luke mumble under his breath.

the boys look at him with raised eyebrows before introducing themselves to you as quinn and jack, luke's older brothers.

"well, i've got to go. it was nice to meet you two. see you saturday, luke," you say over your shoulder as you begin to walk away.

while walking down the hallway to get to the door, you could here lukes brothers teasing him about what he said.

"bye y/n," luke shouts as you push the door to the arena open, walking to your car. you see your friend leaning against it, looking at you with a teasing smile.

"sooo, what did he say?" she asks.

"we have a date this friday," you say, blushing.

your friend squeals as she gets in your car. saturday can't come soon enough you think to yourself.
