you were currently sitting on the couch, your family surrounding you on the remaining pieces of furniture. your two brothers, brady and matthew, had just gotten home from the airport and were staying for the summer in st. louis. you were all currently catching up with each other, your mom filling the boys in on everything that had happened while they were away.

"y/n has a boyfriend." says taryn, looking over at you.

the boy turn their heads to look over at you from their spot on the other couch to where your parents are talking about your summer plans.

"taryn," you hiss at her through clenched teeth.

"really? well, who is it?" matthew smirks, nodding his head at you.

"yeah c'mon, tell us," brady says as he leans forward in his chair, his elbows resting on his knees. you shake your head in refusal at them.

"if it makes you feel better, no one knows who it is, for this exact reason." you say giving a pointed look to taryn.

"yeah," your mom says as she shakes her head at you.

"she won't tell anyone." your dad says, giving you a playful glare.

"can i guess?" brady asks you.

"sure, but you're never going to guess, he doesn't even live in missouri" you say to them.

"where does he live?" matthew asks, squinting his eyes at you.

"michigan," you say before you can catch yourself, practically giving away who it is.

brady's eyes widen and he smirks.

"is it luke?" brady asks with a knowing look in his eyes.

you blush and look down, nodding your head.

"oh my god, it is." matthew says in surprise.

brady grabs his phone out of his back pocket and hits it a few times with his finger. you hear the noise that means he's calling someone and you furrow your brows. brady pushes the speaker button on his phone.

"hello?" a voice asks on the other end of the phone.

"he quinn, uh, did you know that y/n and luke are dating?"

you hear quinn make a noise, sounding like he choked on something.

"what?" quinn gasps.

"yep, y/n just told us, trust me, we were just as surprised as you were. we practically had to squeeze it out of her."

"luke," quinn yells on the other end of the phone. you hear murmuring between the two of them and quinn finally says:

"well that explains why he's always on his phone, facetiming and calling someone, he would never tell us who it was though, but i guess now we know. he was acting kinda weird for a while, now we know why."

your family all turn their heads to look at you, with teasing looks, you quickly look down and begin to fidget with your hands.

"yeah, we could say the same for y/n," taryn says.
