Meeting Zhongli

Rex Incognito, Zhongli ~Mihoyo 

"Why are the Millieth soldiers still after us?" Asked Paimon angrily.

"I don't know, I guess it hasn't cleared up." I replied as we managed to hide from the soldiers.

"Are you two alright, hiding from those annoying soldiers again?" Asked a voice.

"Yep." I sighed.

"Childe!" Yelled Paimon, jumping back in the air a little.

"Come with me, I'd like to take you to meet someone." Replied Childe.

"Should we trust him?" Whispered Paimon, asking me.

"Just follow and see." I whispered in reply too.

We followed Childe up the stairs.

"This is Zhongli xian sheng, a consultant of Wangsheng Funeral Parlor." Replied Childe as we walked into a tea room.

"Hello, good afternoon Zhongli xian sheng." I greeted the tall man wearing golden bronze Liyue attire.

"Good afternoon traveler Y/N, it's an honour to meet you, I heard about you in Monstadt." Replied Zhongli as he nodded towards Paimon and me.

We sat down to have brunch together and awaited explanations.

Zhongli has poured us tea and began to explain the history of Rex Lapis. He also tells us his plans on the idea of preparing a ceremony-like funeral for the Geo Archon. It is called the Rite of Parting.

"Sure, we'll help you." I nodded.

"That is wonderful." Smiled Zhongli.

We quickly finished the brunch and followed Zhongli out the door.

Later at the place where a guy sells mined crystals and stones

Zhongli seems to have spectacular knowledge in a lot of things in Liyue like food, products, business, shopping.

Paimon and I were enlightened.

"Let's go to Dadupa gorge to take a look to see which one is true noticulus jade." Replied Zhongli as we followed him to a teleport wave point and travelled towards the gorge.

There was a huge pan. We managed to clear out the hilichurls.
I watched in awe as Zhongli summoned a meteorite/pillar that smashed the small group of hilichurls.

"Must be fun to have geo element," I commented.

"Indeed." Chuckled Zhongli.

"Zhongli, Y/N and Paimon?" Asked a voice from a distance.

I turned around to find Diluc walking towards us.

"Hello Master Diluc, good to see you." I nodded.

"I didn't expect you would visit Monstadt so soon." Replied Diluc, he then looked at Zhongli, "and greetings Zhongli Xiansheng, it has been a while."

"Greetings, we're just here for a quick errand." Replied Zhongli.

"Testing if it's real crystals or not?" Asked Diluc, looking at the noticulus jade.

"How did you know?" Asked Paimon, flying towards Diluc.

"I do that sometimes too." Replied Diluc.

"In that case, you don't mind controlling the temperature for this?" Asked Zhongli, looking at Diluc.

"Sure, happy to help." Replied Diluc.

I followed Zhongli as he led us back up the steps towards the huge boiling soup pot.

He threw the noticulus jade stones into the boiling water.

"I think the glowing bright one is the real jade." Noticed Diluc.

"You're absolutly right." Replied Zhongli.

"He's right," I replied as I gingerly took out the stones.

"Careful, don't burn yourself." Replied Diluc.

I quickly placed the jade stones onto the wooden floor and looked at my hands.

"I think I'll be fine," I replied awkwardly.

"I have ice packs back at the dawn winery." Offered Diluc.

"Sure, we'll take some and then head back to Liyue." I nodded.

"Y/N helping with commissions around LiYue I see." Noticed Diluc.

"Yes, she is quite helpful, even Xiao and the other Adepti find her interesting and helpful." Smiled Zhongli.

Later after taking an ice pack from Diluc, Y/N and Zhongli set off back to Liyue

Later back at the stone store

"In terms of mora, I have none..." began Zhongli.

"Childe," I whispered to Paimon.

"Oh yeah, that Fatui boy has money." Whispered Paimon.

I took out the money pouch Childe gave us and tried to negotiate with the seller.

"Alright, this price it is." Nodded the seller.

Later at Wanmin resturaunt
I'll take them all, the fish." Replied Zhongli

"Alright." I replied as I paid.

Later at the perfume shop

"I'll take 3 different scents of the perfume please." Replied Zhongli.

"Alright," I replied as I paid the mora.

"I'm starting to see a pattern." Whispered Paimon.

"What pattern?" I asked.

"Zhongli making you pay for everything! Maybe because he doesn't have mora." Whispered Paimon, a little impatient.

I shrugged and followed Zhongli.

Later at the flower shop

"I'll take them all and..." Replied Zhongli glancing at us.

"I'll pay of course," I replied with a sigh.

Later by the Liyue harbour

"And finally  the cleansing bell." Replied Zhongli, "you should go find Madam Ping."

"Alright," I replied.
