Chapter 46

They were having their last drinks of the night. Both tired but having fun they had decided to stay there until closing time.

Hyunjin decided to shoot his shot right then and get it over with.

"So...your dancing on Kingdom was really good. I watched all your fancams. Your acting has improved too."

Seungmin smiled at him genuinely happy about the compliment. "Thanks. I tried"

"Have you ever thought about showcasing your dancing. Or your acting. Or your rapping? Not just your angelic vocals?" He was on one mission but he may as well start other ones close to his heart.

"Sometimes. But what our group needs in a vocalist at the moment. The others I can do for fun."

He understood the point because it was true plus having hobbies was important. Hobbies didn't mean you had to became a professional or monetize them. But truth was Seungmin was a professional dancer at least; he just wasn't credited as such.

"But what if you can showcase something while still being the needed vocalist? Like say your dancing?" Hyunjin prompted.

Seungmin frowned, probably smelling the hidden agenda. "Well I don't have the capacity to create something on my own and I barely have time to practice a cover"

Because he was spending so much time with him. That went unsaid but was heard anyway. Besides all the other things he had on his plate. Sometimes there was a huge gap between what they showed the public vs what they actually had to do including really small things and really big things.

"Well...Minho-hyung said he offered you a duet and I'm sure he has a choreography in mind. You know how good he is and that way you can show the world that you're not just a vocalist with a cute puppy face."

"Ah. Did he put you up to this? I told him no already" Seungmin didn't seem angry but he was avoiding looking at him while conveniently sipping his drink.

Hyunjin tried to make eye-contact, knowing that if he did, he'll have better chances but the other kept avoiding him. He whined "Don't avoid me" he pouted and Seungmin actually looked at him and gulped.

"You can tell him you changed your mind. It will be a good opportunity for you. You've been dancing since even before me! You deserve to be recognised for your dancing skills. The fans will be so happy! I will be so happy" he admitted and while yes Minho had put him up to this, this fact was something that he had been thinking since forever.

"Jinnie..."

"Please? I'd love to see you dance. Ideally solo or with me but since that's not possible at the moment and you said you don't have time on your own, Minho-hyung is the best option. He'll showcase both of your talents and different sides. Just think about it?" he pleaded.

"Fine. I'll tell him I'll do it"

Well that was not the outcome he expected. He thought the other would deliberate and make them suffer for a few days before he caved, if he caved in.

Hyunjin clapped his hands and laughed in excitement.

"We can dance and practice together sometime soon too" Seungmin offered with a smile.

Hyunjin nodded truly happy. Then he mock frowned "You better not do anything with Minho" he threatened while pointing at the other's chest and then they looked at each other and burst out laughing. Perhaps Hyunjin should make the other promise not to kill Minho or prank him really badly. That was more realistic. (Although they could probably end up cuddling while maintaining pokerfaces. That was realistic too).
