A/N: Pride special! Did it go how you thought it would?

Dedicated to @8matryoshkas who commented and whose work I admire.

The day of the party started with a bang. Factually.

"Oh my lord who put bicarbonate in the bowl I had the vinaigrette in??" Felix asked.

"Um. Wasn't it confectionery sugar? I thought since we ran out of normal sugar it would be good to add it to make the dipping sauce for the gimbap!" Jisung guiltily explained. At least he was getting better at admitting when he was at fault. Perhaps then, it wasn't him who had destroyed Seungmin's new coffeemaker. The jury was still out on that.

Confectionery sugar with vinegar or vinaigrette? Surely that would taste...not that great. Who was Seungmin to judge though.

"No time! Let's just finish what we can. It's not like they're going to starve. People will eat according to how much food there is and I'm pretty sure they're not coming empty handed" Chan said diplomatically.

The apartment was like a bee hive or an ants colony. Everyone was flitting around but in an organised way. It was like they were all on stage and had their own parts to play and were blocking from one area to another.

Floats were incoming. Flags they had hidden in various nooks in their rooms were finally aired out and proud. Food was being made. Drinks and ice-cream were being bought. Now all they needed was to dress to impress. They only had one bathroom but at this point they were used to dressing in front of each other. There was only so much time between stages but Hyunjin still used a more private corner. Make-up started to come out too. Hyunjin spotted a boa. Where had that even come from.

He felt a very recognisable hand on his forearm. "I have a gift for you" Seungmin said and considering it was his normal toned voice, Hyunjin didn't think it involved the bedroom. Pity. Because Hyunjin had plans.

But as Seungmin pulled out another necklace, he decided that this part could be a preamble to that plan. Did he have a jewelry store subscription?

Seungmin gifted him a pearl necklace; Hyunjin recognised it as their own WEGO necklace. To some this may seem disappointing but to be frank but Hyunjin loved it. It was dainty but strong and it was theirs.

"Well what are you waiting for? Put it on me" Hyunjin demanded, bouncing on his soles with excitement.

Seungmin turned him around, unclasps and clasped the necklace around his neck. The pearls fell just above the rose-heart necklace which he had been wearing almost daily. It wasn't too much. Although this was pride and camp more than belonged. In fact, it was effeminate men who had paved the way for masc men to be able to be out and proud. They couldn't hide; people were always picking on them and at some point they had enough and started to fight back.

The amount of times Hyunjin had been called various slurs relating to his sexuality or gender...well look at him now. He was happy and he was learning to deal with criticism.

"I love it. Thank you sweetie" Hyunjin said dripping honey. He kissed him on the cheek and then a quick peck on the lips. "Thank you for thinking of me even when working" he said, because he must have bought that necklace and held on to it despite them sharing a room for quite some time and their trips to Japan weren't holidays.

"Always. Anytime for you. I'm afraid though that the pearls cannot compete with your skin. They have to learn from it" the charmer said adoringly.

"You know, I look at you and I see no facial expression and I get scared of you but then I hear you say shit like that and you know buddy, I'm not scared anymore" Jisung said from his spot on the couch, having sat there on his umpteenth break and having a front row seat for their exchange.
