A/N: This monster is exactly 6666 words. It took 1  hour to edit and many more to plot and write. I started dedicating chapters. It won't be all but this one feels important enough and hopefully it's not so depressing. This chapter is dedicated to Tall_dumb_weirdo who was probably my first commenter.

While Hyunjin had cooked a feast both homecomings were anticlimactic. The Kims came in energetic for sure but that was nothing out of the ordinary even so early in the morning it should be criminal. They were happy that he cooked, he got hugs which he stiffened in and then Mr. Kim drove him to the dorm while Ms. Kim took Miya to school. He was asked if he was okay but he defaulted to saying he was tired.

With flowers in one hand and a bag full of food in the other and his backpack on his shoulders he went up to their apartment and he set up a table full of food. Mr. Kim would have loved to stay and greet his son and friends but he unfortunately had a very demanding job so he had to leave. Hyunjin was left all on his own again and every sound could be someone – not his members – coming to check in on him. He was on high alert and the sky-high tension caused him anxiety.

He looked at the flowers trying to calm down. He smelled them, touched them and when that didn't work he paced around the living room doing breathing exercises.

He went about the room, breathing and cleaning hoping that his makeup didn't show his puffy face from crying and lack of sleep.

When chaos erupted and Changbin's loudass voice was heard, his shoulders slumped down and he breathed a sigh of relief. However, once the others were in, they patted him and hugged him briefly and this time he did not freeze up and then they all went to their respective rooms or at least a room to sleep in. Knowing how their life is, he should have expected it.

Well, almost everyone. Chat sat at the dining table actually eating the food.

"Thanks so much Jinnie. Really needed it"

Hyunjin smiled, eyes filling with tear. "Thanks hyung"

"Hey, what's going on?" Seungmin's voice said from right beside him.

"Nothing. Just missed you" he let the tears flow in relief because he felt safe. It felt like yesterday's meltdown wasn't enough although luckily he knew how to reduce puffiness and redress and cover anything else with makeup, all tricks which he had employed that morning but were now useless.

Chan came over, face still stuffed with food – and that felt more like a compliment that anything else – and hugged him from one side while Seungmin took over the other side. He didn't move, just enjoyed feeling small and protected.

Eventually, he started to notice their eyes drooping and their stomachs grumbling hungrier and hungrier so with a light hand of their arms, he pushed them slightly and they immediately gave him space.

"Thank you for the hug therapy. You should eat and go to sleep for a few hours though"

"You feeling better?" Seungmin asked him while Chan fretted behind him. "Much" he replied.

Hyunjin sat in the living room, reading another book – well graphic novel. It was a series called 'The Backstagers' about a group of theater kids and it was queer and funny as hell. He snickered at their antics, trying to keep the full-bloom laughter that was trying to make a break for it inside him.

"Hey"

He couldn't keep that scream in however as his tossed the book in the air. It was quickly caught by Seungmin the book protector while Hyunjin struggled to not pee himself from the startle. At least no one came to check in on them if they had woken up.
