Wu Xie

The procession back to the town was made in painful silence while Wu Xie and Xiaoge hold hands behind Pangzi in mutual support to one another, because seen Pangzi carry Yun Cai's body was quite heartbreaking for the two of them not only because they were sorry for their brother loss, but also because it could be their loss too if their luck finally run out while on their adventures.

Qiling feared that he could lose Wu Xie at any moment, giving his abnormal magnet for danger state that he had been so repeatedly told by Pangzi and he had witness it himself. The last thing he wanted was for be in Pangzi's shoes, carrying a dead Wu Xie while his heart shattered in so many pieces it will be impossible to mend. Just dreaming about Wu Xie becoming a blood zombie had shaken him strong enough to realize Wu Xie was more than just the man he loved, but also his entire life, to a point that even in his nightmares he refused to leave Wu Xie behind even in death.

It was the same for Wu Xie, as he held Xiaoge's hand, he wished for never have to let go of him, otherwise he was sure he will lose it completely. He had chase after him for so long that he doubted he would remain sane if he ever lose his Poker Face Zhang Qiling. After all, he had already prove that he was willing to do anything in order to save him, even go as far as to trick an old man, so he could only imagine of how much more he will do if Xiaoge wasn't by his side. The thought alone horrify him, so he squeezed Xiaoge's hand more tightly, fully knowing that even if Xiaoge's expression looked calm, he was also in the same inner turmoil than him.

The worse part, however came when back to the house. Uncle Gui had finally come back home to find it empty and when he stayed out in wait for all of them to come back, he had seen Pangzi carry his daughter, worse of all, dead. Pangzi had leave her on the table outside and Mr. Gui had ask them for what happen to his daughter, Wu Xie explained as best as he could, only saying she had been kidnap by the man they called slope-shoulder, who had previously threaten Panma and poison her.

As Wu Xie explained, Pangzi had go inside the house and into Yun Cai's room, as he had not forget her last words and looked into her drawer. There he found two letters with names, one for her father and the other one for him. Immediately, Pangzi give Mr. Gui her letter, in which she explained what happen to her, telling her father that Banai had such dark secrets, that the man who poison her was willing to kill for them.

She also told him to be wary of him and that she was sorry to be caught in a mess she could not get out and involved others in her own powerless against a dangerous native of the town. She also warned her father of Panma, who was an accomplice and spy for many years and a killer by choice, not forced.

To Pangzi... well, she was certain she was going to die by nightfall, so she wrote to him in case she didn't see him again. She asked for forgiveness, as she had no choice but to agree to be the bait that could end up been his doom... she told him she liked him and that if circumstances were different she would had like to go to Beijing with him and see the big city with her own eyes, instead of just been told about the many wonders it had.

Of course, that broke Pangzi's heart even more and at the end both Mr. Gui and Pangzi, stayed out by Yun Cai's body like two sentinels watching their fallen Queen. Wu Xie stood in the house balcony with Xiaoge, who looked lost in thoughts as he watched the other two mourn.

"Xiaoge..." Wu Xie called worriedly, but he didn't seem to listen.

"Xiaoge..." Wu Xie try again, this time grabbing his hand, which actually did the trick and make Qiling look back at him.

"That man have my same name... I started this tragedy." Qiling said and Wu Xie deny it with a shake of his head.

"That's not true. The secrets of your family run so deep it's hard to predict where it will take you. None of us imagine something like this will happen."
