Zhang Qiling

The few days that he spent away from Wu Xie were too long for his taste, even when the reason for staying behind was to keep an eye on his brother Pangzi. The absence of Wu Xie was not exactly good for Pangzi either, as he simply overworked himself each day whatever digging in the mountain or working on Mr. Gui's every necessity.

It was starting to look pitiful watching Pangzi go around in circles without anything that could drive him in enough to close that chapter and start another one. It was waking up early in the morning and do all kinds of chores to keep Pangzi's mind busy, but in between jobs, Qiling could see the sadness, rooting deeper and deeper as the days passed.

He was not exactly the comforting type of man, so the only thing he could do was to follow him around and make sure he didn't do anything stupid that can put him in troubles while Wu Xie was gone. However, even for a silent man as him, it was heartbreaking to watch Pangzi act like the living dead, but he bear the sight and look after him each day without complaining. Pangzi was his brother after all and he cared for him as such.

That all changed when Wu Xie called Pangzi in the third day of his absence. Apparently, Wu Xie's search had bring him to an old drawing of a private mortuary made with the Lei architecture style that was used by the imperial Qing Dynasty now lost to modern times, that some people were interested to buy and wanted to meet with him at the Xin Yue Restaurant in three more days.

"Tianzhen, you can't possibly go to the Xin Yue Restaurant on your own. It's dangerous there." Pangzi protested immediately and Qiling couldn't agree more, even if he remained quiet by Pangzi's side.

"I know... but I still have Wang Meng with me and even Mop had decided to help me. Xiao Hua and Xiazi had also make their own progress and perhaps this time will lead us to finding something useful for once."

"Neither Wang Meng, nor Mop will be of any good to you in that Mystic Nine nest. Trust me Tianzhen, only Xiaoge and I can back you up there."

"But you wanted to stay in Banai and find the entrance of the Zhang's Pavilion..."

"That entrance will not go anywhere in the next three days... and to be honest, Xiaoge had been sulking for you a lot..."

"I haven't."

"Yes you have... you are always looking at the night sky with such melancholy that I even expected for you to howl like a lone wolf to the moon." At that Wu Xie coughed with the starting of a blush. He missed his Xiaoge so much and he would had melted watching such a scene.

"Alright, then come back as soon as you can to Beijing and I will wait to pick you both when you arrive." Wu Xie said happily before he ended the call.

"Well, Xiaoge... we are going to Beijing tomorrow morning." But Qiling was just relieved that the wait was finally going to end and he wanted to see Wu Xie again quite badly.

"Why not now?" Qiling asked in his impatient for seen Wu Xie as soon as possible.

"There is something else I need to do first... uncle Gui..." Pangzi said.

"What can you possible do now? You have already done everything. Cut the wood to storage for almost a month, feed the pigs three times, weed the garden every day, pick every mushrooms from the mountain's slope, clean the house for times and the yard, I lost count... there is nothing else to do in this house..." Mr. Gui pointed at Pangzi.

"Ah, I mean, I want something to show my affection for Yun Cai... something that will prove my sincerity for her..." Pangzi said sadly and Mr. Gui sighed.

"It's not necessary to go that far..."

"Please, I want to." Pangzi insisted.

"Alright... then, let me show you what the youngsters in town do to prove their affection to the girls here..."
