Chapter 5

EMERY GRIFFIN

Today is the first weekend to go to Hogsmead. Mom didn't sign my slip this year which I sorta hate because I wanted to go but dads here so maybe he can sign.

I marched down to his office knocking as I heard a come in. I walked in seeing Professor Black and my dad. "Dad can you sign something?" I asked him not seeing anyone else.

I walked over to him as he stared at me. "Of course what is it?" He asked as I pulled out my slip. "My permission slip to go to Hogsmead." I told him. "Your mom didn't sign it?" He asked as I shook my head.

"If your mom told you no than I'm not going to." He told me. What! "Why not?" I asked him. "Because now my answer is no." He told me. "How is that fair dad. All of my friends are going to be going and here I am going to be stuck at the castle." "Well your always welcomed to stay with us." Dad said.

"Why can't you sign it dad?" I asked him. "Because your mother obviously told you no so I'm not going against her." He said. "She didn't technically tell me no she just wasn't home to sign it besides I came with Cedric and Amos so mom didn't have time to sign it anyways." I told him.

"Please." I added. "No Emery." He told me. This is so not fair. "Everyone's going to be their." I told him. "That's fine." He said. "Stop being stubborn my answer is no." He added.

"This is not fair. Mom didn't tell me no and your refusing to sign it. How is that fair to me." "That's just how life goes." He said ruffling my hair as I moved his hands away. "I'm sorry okay but my answer will still be no." He told me. "Maybe a late birthday present?" I suggested seeing as he missed my birthday for work.

"No." He said shaking his head. "This is not fair you know it's not either dad." I shoved my permission slip in my bag. "It's the least you could've done since you missed my last twelve birthdays." I told him walking off.

"Emery-I walked out the classroom far away from their. This is ain't fair I just don't understand why he won't sign my permission slip. He's not going against mom if she never told me no.

"Woah slow down their sweetheart." Alex told me grabbing my hand. "What's got you all riled up." He asked me. "My dad he wouldn't sign my permission slip. I'm sorry for dropping this on you." I told him taking a deep breath.

"It's fine don't worry about it." He told me. "Talk to me. Why won't he sign it." He asked leading us to a seat on the wall. "I don't even know why he won't he won't tell me and keeps saying his final answer is no." I told him.

"I'm sorry I'm wasting your time here." I told him standing up as he pulled me back down. "No your not i enjoy your presence sweetheart." He told me as I smiled at him. "How about we do something till everyone comes back yeah?" He said. "Just us two?"

"Of course unless you don't want too." He said. "No yeah we can totally do that." I told him as he gave me a nod. "Come on." He said as I followed after him.

JAMES POTTER

Emery stormed out of here mad at me. I let out a sigh. "Twelve birthdays?" Sirius said. "Shut up i know." I told him. "You have a lot of making up to do James. Twelve birthdays you've missed out on. I can't wait till everyone knows I for sure know Willow will have your head." He said as I rolled my eyes.

I do have to make it up to her I know she acts like it doesn't bother her but it does bother her deeply and I regret not showing up but I couldn't leave because we had a party for Harry or we were hungover and I didn't want to be around Emery hungover.

It's bad enough I was barely in her life but I don't ever want her to see me hungover.

"Come on Lily and Remus is waiting for us." I told him as we walked out. We soon found Lily and Remus walking down the corridor talking as we walked over to them. "Hey luv." Lily said noticing us." "Hi my lilyflower." I said kissing her cheek. "Hey moony." I said. "Hey Prongs and Pads." He said.

"Hey slow down you two." Lily said as two kids ran past. "I said slow down." Lily told them again as I smiled at them. I remember ignoring my professors. "Luv just leave them their kids-Oh it's Mr.Newton And Ms.Griffin running off hand in hand." Sirius said cutting me off.

She wouldn't go anywhere near a boy right?

"We should probably go make sure their not making out in a broom closet somewhere aye." Sirius knew exactly what he was doing. "Yes we should." I said already walking off. Sirius quickly caught up with me throwing his arm over my shoulder.

"Calm down don't want to blow your cover aye?" He said as I rolled my eyes. If he would've kept his mouth shut I wouldn't be so riled up. We past by a broom closet than walked back hearing giggling than it stopped. We stood here not opening it yet. Lily and Remus came over. Remus opened the door as Emery and that boy was in here.

"Lily take the boy back where he belongs." I told her as she shook her head. "Come on." She told the boy as he walked out as Emery stayed quiet looking down at the floor.

"See you later sweetheart." He told her as her face turned red.

Are they dating?!

Him and Lily walked off. Once they we're out of earshot I spoke up. "What are you doing in a broom closet with some boy?" I asked her. "Having fun since you refused to sign my permission slip. So if anything this is your fault." She told me turning this around on me.

"A parent has to sign the permission slip. James why would she ask you unless your her dad." Remus said. "Yes yes moong he is the father to this sassy young baby." Sirius said patting my back.

"I'm not a baby. That's why your growing grey hairs." She told him before walking off as Sirius let out a gasp covering his hair. "Take that back you demon child." Sirius said going after her. Oh Merlin everything's a mess.

"Is she really your kid?" Remus asked me as I let out a sigh. "Yes she is. Don't tell anyone please I have to tell Lily and my parents about her as well." I told him as he gave me a nod. "Okay I won't." He said as I sent him a thankful smile. "If your wondering if I cheated no. It was when me and Lily broke up I'd never cheat on Lily." I told him.

"I know you wouldn't James." He told me. "Now I suggest we go after them two." Remus said as I nodded my head. We ran after them as they were arguing back and forth. "At least I'm not a short midget." Sirius told her as she let out a gasp as she stopped walking turning around facing him.

"At least I'm not old you sixty year." She told him as he let out a gasp. "Well at least I can grab things from the top shelf." He told her. I can't with these two. "I feel bad for your wife or husband who has to live and deal with you." She told him.

"Mr.Black and Ms.Griffin is the problem now." Professor McGonggal said as they both looked at her. "She-he started it." They both said pointing at each other. Emery let out a gasp. "Liar. You called me a short midget." "Because you are." He said as me and Remus shook our heads at them.

She kicked his leg as he leaned down holding his leg. "Ms.Griffin.!" Minnie said as Emery stormed off. "Can't say he didn't deserve it." Remus muttered as I agreed with him. "Black i told you to leave her alone already." Minnie told him. "Now I must go find Ms.Griffin." She said walking off.

"Your child is a menace to society." Sirius said as he finally stopped being dramatic. "Shove off No she's not besides why did you keep provoking her?" I told him. "Because it's fun to watch her get mad." He said as I shook my head.

I'm going to have to tell everyone about Emery I don't want her to get hurt.
