"What the fck dad!? Why should I marry him?!" Jungkook fumes

Jungkook had just gotten home after work and his dad called him to the study, only to hear that his marriage has been fixed with Jimin - his dad's batchmate's son, in business school

"Jungkook..." his dad sighs "...with the amount of money you lost with that deal... your company is under threat of bankruptcy... Mr Park is willing to help... you just have to marry his son..."

" I don't wanna marry someone I don't know. I am not in the mental state right now to even think of myself... how can I tolerate a stranger?" Jungkook nearly pleads "..Please dad... I will find a way!"

"It's been nearly 12 months and there has been no change..." his dad sighs as Jungkook doesn't know how to respond to it "...Jimin is a good boy... if anything, I'm sure he will be your calming pill"

But Mr Jeon was so wrong

Jungkook hated his husband. Jungkook never wanted this marriage, never wanted Jimin. He felt suffocated because he felt incompetent, insecure due to his failure at business and having to relay on Mr Park to bring himself out of the situation but the thing that troubled him the most was - he had a plan and a dream on how his life would be, how his partner would be - someone perfect, beautiful, charismatic, smart and definitely not mute.

Yup, Jimin was a mute - not by birth, someone had assaulted him while he tried to save someone and they ended up injuring his vocal cords.

Jungkook was mutlitalented since his childhood and many wanted him but he never bothered to have a relationship. He always wanted a perfect husband who he could be proud of. He thought he deserved the best of the best. And according to him, Jimin wasn't

Jungkook didn't know how and why Jimin is a mute. He didn't care. His own self pity and inability to accept the marriage made him hate his poor husband who was exactly who he was looking for but Jungkook couldn't see it when his eyes, mind and heart were clouded by rage and disappointment

Jungkook generally is a decent guy and so he tried to be cordial but he just couldn't do it. Jimin being mute irritated him. It took too much time for the boy to communicate with him and Jungkook didn't have the time nor patience to tolerate the boy and so he resorted to avoiding and ignoring Jimin by always going to work early and coming home late- well, it's not just to avoid the boy - he wanted to rebuild his name in the business world

It was their first outing together at a business dinner. It was a celebration of inviting Jungkook back into the business world and he had to bring Jimin along

Jungkook talked to other business tycoons while Jimin interacted with the housewives and people he knew

Jimin approached Jungkook after a while and interacted with the man who was talking to Jungkook. The man Kim Namjoon was someone who knew Mr Park and was delighted to talk to Jimin through sign language.

Jungkook poked his tongue against his cheek watching the two interact. Jimin was giggling happily and Namjoon seemed to enjoy communicating with the tiny boy.

Jungkook felt hurt that he never really got to enjoy that side of Jimin. The boy looked absolutely gorgeous. He sighs internally - he knows he is the one to blame for that.

Meanwhile, Namjoon would talk back verbally like he occasionally did but he preferred signing back to Jimin than talking and that irritated Jungkook because he understood nothing

"What's so funny that got my husband to laugh so much?" Jungkook asks half sarcastically, half curious

Namjoon is surprised to realise that Jungkook doesn't know sign language

"....You don't know sign language? You have such a beautiful, smart husband and you don't talk to each other through signs?"

Jungkook was about to reply when Jimin signs to Namjoon that it was a long night and he wanted to go back home

Jimin always tried his best to ask Jungkook about his day through his mobile app - the robotic voice just irritated the man

The man couldn't handle Jimin's constant presence and bursts out at the boy one day - the stress and fear of a bankruptcy weighed on him badly

"You know why you are here right? Your dad paid for my bankruptcy in exchange to marry you!"

Jimin's eyes filled with tears before he walked away. Jungkook has never yelled at him nor insulted him this badly before

Jungkook's chest felt heavy watching the boy's hurt face. He couldn't understand why he felt that way. He follows Jimin to their shared bedroom

"Fck! I shouldn't have said that. It's not your fault nor was anything I said true. I'm sorry..." Jungkook makes Jimin look at him " ..please don't cry..."

Jimin looked at the man as tears rolled down his cheeks. Jungkook reaches out to wipe the tears, his index finger brushing against Jimin's lips for a second, his eyes darting back and forth between Jimin's eyes and lips and he unconsciously found himself leaning in

And just then his phone rings, making the two flinch away

"I...I got to take the call..."

Jimin nods

Fck! What just happened?

Ever since that incident, Jungkook was a bit more calmer and careful around Jimin. He started giving the boy time and Jimin couldn't be happier

Jungkook hated going for work nowadays - he always hurried to go back home. He just misses the tiny boy too much

Jungkook understood that what his dad said earlier about Jimin being his calming pill was true. Even if he didn't want to accept it in the beginning Jungkook realised that he found himself daydreaming, worrying and wondering what Jimin was doing all day. Thinking about Jimin brought a smile to his face. Whenever he got tensed about a new deal or anything, just Jimin's thoughts calmed him down.

Jungkook had apologized to Jimin and made amends in their relationship

Jungkook started taking the boy out on dates.

Tonight's date was special though- Jungkook took Jimin onto their rooftop. Jimin was surprised. He didn't know that their date tonight was at their house itself and he had no idea that Jungkook spend the whole day decorating the roof

"I love you Jimin..." Jungkook says and Jimin looks at him with a smile, the smile drops when he sees Jungkook communicate through sign language

Jimin had no idea the man was learning the language for him

I love you... I really love you.. and I'm so sorry that I hurt you for so long for no fault of yours .. - Jungkook signs - ..please will you stay with me always- Jungkook signs, kneeling down on one knee, as he reaches out for Jimin's hand

Jimin's eyes fill up as he nods his head yes

Jungkook stands up and comes closer before pulling the tiny boy into his arms

"I love you..." Jungkook pulls away to sign "I love you so much"

"I love you too.." Jimin signs

Jimin gasps when Jungkook suddenly carries him briefly style

Jimin signs ..eat?

"I am going to eat.... you..."Jungkook replies making Jimin blush
