[138] BROTHER'S FRIEND - MAR 28 2024

Jimin is Jihyun's elder brother. Jihyun's best friend is Jungkook who always seemed to hang out in the boy's house, being besties since high school.

Jimin is already working and had moved out while Jungkook and Jihyun are interns at different companies.

Jungkook didn't dare approach Jimin as much because he wanted to earn for himself first and not let Jimin see him as a child which Jimin never failed to remind the man

"Aww Kookie.. you are so cute... you are like a baby bunny..." Jimin would often call the man that during their initial interactions which somehow no matter how much taller and bigger Jungkook had gotten, didn't change

Jungkook didn't like that at all. He wanted to be a man for Jimin

Now that he was already an intern at a reputed company getting salary, Jungkook decides to let Jimin know about his feelings but slowly - he didn't want Jimin to out right just reject him, Jungkook wanted to spark some feelings in the boy first

"Hey hyung... you always go to the gym at 5AM right? Can I join you?" Jungkook asks one day and Jimin agrees

In the beginning Jungkook started flexing his muscles making Jimin coo at him but that also meant Jimin going away and doing things on his own, seeing that Jungkook didn't need his help - showing Jimin that I am a man didn't work. I should let him baby me for a while.

And so Jungkook purposely starts making mistakes and groaning noises so that Jimin would come and help him at the gym.

Jimin unconsciously start hanging out with Jungkook more and more. They talk in the morning during their water breaks or in the shower together. And after that they go out for a quick breakfast before they separately head for work.

Jimin starts feeling bad that Jungkook isn't spending much time with Jihyun now

"Hey you should answer that..." Jimin says concerned when he sees Jihyun calling

"It's okay, he just wanted to know what I was doing.. I already told him I'm busy..."

"But..."

"He knows I'm with you so you don't have to worry..." Jungkook smiles

"Jungkook... he is your best friend right..you should spend time with him... I'm sorry I'm taking your time..."

"But I want to be here with you..." Jungkook looks in front and changes the topic "...you were right... this view of the beach is mesmerizing..."

"Jungkook..." Jimin sighs "...let's just go back hmm? Jihyun might be wanting to be with you..."

"It's nothing like that. Besides I rather be here with you than anywhere else... he is my best friend and he knows I need my space too just like I give him his space with his girlfriend..."

"Let's just go. I feel uneasy..." Jimin says getting up and walking to the car

Jungkook stops him by grabbing his wrist

"Why?"

"I... I dont know..."

".... you like being here with me, right?"

Jimin turns around to look at him, looking at the man's doe eyes and after a moment he nods

"Jimin... hyung... I have something I wanted to tell you since a long time..." Jimin's heart races "...I love you... I really love you and want to be with you..." Jungkook takes a deep breath before exhaling it "...will you be my boyfriend?"

The ride home was quiet.

Jimin rejected him.

Jungkook sighs remembering Jimin's words "...you are supposed to be like Jihyun... my younger brother... he will feel so betrayed by this... I'm sorry its all my fault..Please...please don't tell Jihyun anything...."

Jimin avoids Jungkook since that day, avoiding going to the gym and taking Jungkook's calls.

Both are hurting but Jungkook let's Jimin have his time.

Jimin didn't want Jihyun to know so Jungkook didn't tell him

2 weeks passed by since the confession and Jihyun went out of town for the weekend.

Jimin was returning home after going to the park for a walk when someone attacks him there. It was pretty late and Jimin had gone for the walk because he couldn't sleep properly. There were hardly anyone in the park area.

Jimin runs and hides as soon as he manages to free himself from his attacker. Jimin in panic, calls Jungkook - the only person he could think of.

Jungkook answers the phone after a few rings - clearly the man was sleeping.

"J-Jungkook... I'm s-scared..."

"Jimin?" Jungkook whispers as he tries to make sense of things "..Jimin?! Where are you?!"

Soon

Jimin finds himself in the warm embrace of Jungkook

"You are not hurt right?! Are you okay?!"

Jimin nods "...please take me home.."

Later

"Please... can you stay?" Jimin asks when Jungkook turns to leave after tucking Jimin in bed "...I'm scared..."

Jungkook climbs in without a word, hugging the boy gently towards his chest, his arms wrapped around him, one hand patting the boy's hair

Jimin freezes when Jungkook kisses his hair

Jimin immediately looks up and gulps when he sees Jungkook's lips so close to his. Jungkook smiles at him slightly caressing his face but before the man knows it, Jimin kisses him softly at the corner of his lips

Jimin pulls away, both looking into the other's eyes intently and the next moment they are leaning in, pulling each other into a passionate kiss

"J-Jimin... what does this mean?" Jungkook asks against Jimin's lips

"Let's talk to Jihyun soon..." Jimin says kissing the man again "...I wanna date you so bad"

"Beach!I knew it..I knew you had a crush on hyung and now you are together? I couldn't be more happier for you both. He is the best brother I could ask for and you are my best friend. This is perfect..." Jihyun says excited as soon as Jungkook and Jimin sit down to talk to him about them

"Really?" Jimin is shocked

"Of course hyung. I am happy that you will be loved and taken care of by him. I know he will protect you and love you the way you deserve to be loved... And I am so happy that you will be his because I know you will never hurt my best friend..."

Jimin has happy tears in his eyes as he hugs Jihyun

"Thank you"

Jungkook mouths a thank you too

"Well then..." Jihyun smirks standing up "I'm leaving you both to it...don't be too rough on my brother... he is like a delicate flower"

Jimin's face flushes

"Of course I would never hurt my baby. You can trust me" Jungkook winks at Jihyun making Jimin elbow him in the tummy slightly

"Yah!"

Jungkook pulls Jimin closer by his waist, leaving no space between them

"I love you"

Jimin smiles

"I love you too"
