Tonight is the Harvest Festival, and attendance is mandatory, so all the Nevermore students will be. In his room Ajax, is getting ready. He knows that starting a relationship with Wednesday will be a slow burn, but he has nothing but time. His gorgon and slight lamia abilities will slow down his aging by a lot. His parents look like they are in their mid-30s, but they are actually 100s of years old. He puts on his dark red cap and goes to get on the bus.
In Wednesday's room she is fully packed, and prepared to come back to get her stuff, when Tyler gets his car. She looks out the window, and see all the students, walking outside to the buses, that will take them to the carnival. One of the male students, in a burgundy cap looks up, and she realizes it is Ajax. He waves and smiles at her.
She moves back and closes the window, knowing she lost her chance at expanding her knowledge about an outcast type rare to America. And to figure out why her finger heated up at touching one of his vipers. She remembers that once she runs away from here, she will have a long time to find answers, on her own.
