Chapter 70 (To Coexist... is to Believe... and Smile)

In a grassy open field, Rhya was walking absently rubbing the back of his head as he yawned out loud.

"Man that was one hell of a sleepover." Rhya spoke to himself reminiscing the fun night he had with his elf friends, "Man I need to make an effort to be a bit more diligent. Who am I kidding? I am not a person fit to be active. Everything is a chore at this point. What a pain."

As he tries to get the tiredness out of his eyes, he notes Licht sitting underneath a tree ahead. Noting Licht alone, he begins to walk towards him. As he walks closer, he can't help but note Licht laughing to himself, making Rhya confused. Who was he talking to? He tried to look more carefully but couldn't find anyone. Maybe they were sitting behind the other side of the tree?

The copy mage then reached his friend and saw Licht now looking at him with a smile.

"Oh hello, Rhya!" Licht greets his dear friend.

"Hey, Licht." Rhya greets back, "You seem in a good mood today. What's keeping you on cloud nine?"

Licht's smile widens, "I'm just talking to Isabella."

"Isabella?"

"Yes." Licht points right next to him, "Meet Isabella. She's new here. She lives in the heart kingdom."

Rhya looks beside Licht, completely baffled. His previous tiredness now completely vanished from his eyes, trying to process what Licht was talking about.

"Do you know Rhya? Isabella is from the heart kingdom. Can you believe that there are our kind living in other kingdoms too? I can't wait to meet them." Licht speaks happily.

Rhya looks back at Licht looking at him with wide eyes as he tries to make sense.

"Licht? What are you talking about?"

"What do you mean?" Licht tilts his head in confusion.

"Look if you didn't want to talk to me, that's fine but you don't have to make up an imaginary friend to avoid me or something," Rhya spoke as he yawned.

Licht looks in confusion, "What are you saying?"

"There is no Isabella, Licht. No one is sitting next to you. It's just you and me."

Licht frowns at Rhya, still processing what his friend said. Rhya was blunt but not this rude.

"Rhya, you sure, you're not still asleep? Isabella and I have been talking for a while now. You just came. "

"Licht there is nobody next to you or behind you! It's just me!"

"What's going on?"

They turned to see Vetto approaching them with a concerned look.

Licht looks at Vetto, "Sorry Vetto, Rhya just came half asleep and joked that Isabella is invisible."

"But I'm not-"

"Isabella?" Vetto asked, "Who's that?"

Licht pointed at Isabella, "This girl that I met a few months ago. She lives in the Heart Kingdom and came here for a visit."

Vetto looks at the spot that Licht was pointing.

But, there was no one there.

"Licht, there is no one there."

"What?"

I don't see Isabella."

"But she's right here!"
