It's been three weeks since me and Fred got back together and everything was going smoothly.    Sadly, I couldn't say the same thing for finding myself a job. And what made me doubt I ever will happened today.
I was on my way to the Ministry of Magic to assign as a secretary. It was a very low position, but since I couldn't start, for some very odd reason, from a high position, I had to kick it off with the bottom in order to climb at the top.
Fred was kind enough to walk me to the entrance before he left for work. It was very sweet of him, and it was the simple reason behind my constant smile.
"Good luck, love." He quickly pecked my lips as he held both of my hands.
"Thank you." Hearing my words that came out with a chuckle, made him smile as well.
I couldn't help but feel blessed that life gave me another chance with him. He had changed a lot. From the prankster school boy into the proud man who stood right in front of me. The happiness that rushed thru me, made my eyes water up with tears. I bit my lip as I felt my whole face heat up.
"Hey... hey... what's wrong?" Fred cupped my face and whispered the words with concern.
His eyes looked shocked at first as I laughed at his question.
"I love you." I said with a smile while wiping away the rolling tear. His eyes softened and the warm smile I adored so much appeared on his lips.
"Silly Daniels..." He chuckled out as he pecked my forehead. "Why is that the reason you're crying?"
"Because I am happy..." My simple answer made him smile widely at me.
"Go, love, you'll be late." I gave him a nod and walked away.
When I reached the front doors I turned around to find him still standing at the spot we were. He gave me an encouraging smile and waved at me, to which I replied with a shy wave back. I felt confident as I walked inside. It felt right to be here, to work here. I deserved it and I was aware of that.
Taking the corridor to the Department of the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures my mind was telling me how everything was going to be fine and how I was going to get the job, how easy it would be for me to reach the high position. How I was going to make my family proud and maybe, just maybe start to think about creating a family of my own. I couldn't help but blush at the thought of Fred being the man beside me. It seemed so perfect, we would both have jobs that could ease our lives and provide good future for the children. Children? My mind chuckled in my head as if I allowed myself to dream too far in the future. Don't be so silly, Paige.
"Hello. You must be Paige Daniels?" A woman interrupted my thoughts. She was around twice my age as from the way she was dressed and held the appointment papers in her trembling hands, I could assume she was in fact a secretary.
"Yes..." I smiled nervously. "Yes, I am. Hello."
"Sit here, please. I will go check on the director and tell him you had arrived." She was so kind, despite the fact that she knew I would probably stand on her place if they hire me.
"Thank you." I sat down on the black sofa and waited.
I was thinking of a way to payback for what Fred did the first day we got together. I imagined how I will invite him for a dinner at home, and since my parents were on a trip to France, we will be alone. It would be the perfect time for me to seduce him and leave him like that. My mind started picturing things that made my face heat up and make me blush.
The door opened and my thoughts were interrupted once again by the woman.
"He'll be out in a minute." I just gave her a nod and stood up, fixing my dress and turning towards the mirror on the wall which was behind me.
The door opened just in time for me to turn around and smile. But then like a cold blizzard the smile froze and the blush faded away from my face. The ice blue eyes pierced my soul, making me let out a trembling breath escape my mouth.
"Hello, Miss Daniels." He smirked at me, most probably at my shocked appearance.
William...    My mind answered for me as if to make sure that what I was seeing was actually real.
