Magnus Academy: The Cursed Blood

Chapter Seven

Magnus Town

I quickly shot her my I-don't-care looks hoping that would be enough to let her know that I'm not interested. Now that the person that forced me to be here is gone, I don't know what to do anymore. But she paid no heed to what I'm trying to tell her. I mentally rolled my eyes in annoyance.

"Shall I spell it out to you that I'm not interested?" I asked, sarcastically polite.

"I suggest you put on your manners young la—" The Headmistress beckoned Thomas to stop.

"Actually, you should consider yourself pretty lucky for you are being invited by the Headmistress herself. A simple 'no, thank you' would be enough." Pilit na sabi ni Thomas. Now that I'm looking at him, he looks like he's 23 or something.

"Thomas." The headmistress warned him as he sighed.

"Ang Magnus Academy ay isang paaralan para sa mga batang may ability kagaya mo. Unlike in other islands, Magnus Academy doesn't need money from the students. You're free to enroll whether you're rich or poor, pero may isang pagsubok na dapat mong malagpasan." Hindi niya ba gets na wala talaga akong pake?

"I'm recruiting you to join and take the exam." Sabi niya. Bubukas na sana ang bibig ko para magsalita nang pigilan niya ako. "I want you to think about this matter seriously. Makukulong ka ng habang-buhay sa kulungan or join and take the exam."

"The first option doesn't sound so bad for me." I said and she smiled.

"You just need to try and take the exam, if you fail then you're free to do whatever you want and we won't bother you anymore. Pero siyempre kung may isa sa isang milyong chance..." Is she mocking me? Or is she provoking me? Well mabuti sa kaniya na medyo gumagana din. "..na makapasa ka, then I'll consider finding a cure for that critically injured boy." My eyes suddenly glimmer with interest.

"He's dead. Don't make fun of him."

"I wish I can, pero dapat mo ring malaman na lahat ng sinasabi ko ay totoo." She wish she can, eh? "He's not dead. If you thought he is, you're wrong. The moment he was brought to the hospital, he came back to life. Pero sa critikal ma kondisyun siya and needs to be cured immediately." I hesitated whether its true or not.

"Now, you can stay here and I'll be back tomorrow to hear your response." Lumabas na silang dalawa ni Thomas at sinarado ang pintuan.

"Headmistress, ano tong ginagawa mo? You're asking a complete stranger to take an exam? Bakit po ba? May nakita po ba kayong kakaiba sa kaniya?" Narinig kong tanong ni Thomas sa kaniya.

"Nothing at all. She just reminded me of a certain someone. And seeing her emotionless eyes like that, it makes me want to try my best to change her." Sagot ng Headmistress bago niya sinara ng kompleto ang pintuan.

Change me eh? She said that, but she won't understand anything about me. At paano niya kaya nakita ang mga mata ko? I mean, nakatabon kaya ang bangs ko na parang hindi na bangs dahil sa haba.

And so they left me handcuffed. Ngayon ko lang na realise na sa itaas pala ng lamesa ay may isang tray puno ng mga pagkain like bread, mga prutas, and even some bottle of water. Hindi ko na nakita kanina since naka focus lang ako kung ano ang nangyayari sa harapn ko.

Pero hindi mawala sa isip ko kung ano ba ang dapat kong gawin. Being prisoned for the rest of my life doesn't sound so bad since wala na naman akong pupuntahan at babalikan, but then they mentioned Hoy. Hanggang ngayon wala prin akong alam sa pangalan niya, and it's quite a bothersome.

But it's not that I can do anything about it, unless tanongin ko siya mismo. That woman said he was alive. Just like I hoped for. Pero hindi ko alam kung ano ba talaga ang balak nila, it doesn't looks like they're deceiving me. And even if they were, ano naman ang makukuha nika sa akin? Kahit nagsisinungaling man sila, dapat ko paring alamin kung ano ngaba ang totoo. Lalo na at wala akong alam kung saang hospital si Hoy ngayon.
