Before The Setting Sun

I have been wondering what to say under this awful silence.

"Nahanda mo na ba ang lahat?" Tanong ko kay Alvin habang nakasakay kami ngayon sa may karwahe papunta sa Klein's Estate. He gave me a look before nodding tapos ay tumingin sa labas ng binatana.

Two days ago I was told that the transaction will be done at Klein's hosted party, and specifically si Iyana ang nag-host nito saying it was to welcome her future engagement. I did hear about her being engaged, but it was still not decided who, and last time I remember she isn't pleased about the idea. So seriously throwing a party hosted by her herself? Impossible.

Kaya isa lang ang ibig sabihin nito, may kinalaman nga ito sa transaction. Perhaps they are seeking the information and had to lure the 'party monster' Christopher Satrinava. Sa loob ng dalawang araw, hinanda na namin ang lahat para lang sa araw na ito. Pero dapat namin maunahan ang mga buyers, otherwise this mission is useless. Caina and Iriel were wearing dresses fit for being personal maids, si Silverrium naman ay naka tuxedo na kukay itim, ganoon din si Alvin with his red necktie tightly in place. Accel was wearing a clothing fit for being a guard. Ako naman ay nakasuot ng pang-attendant na uniform, a long black pants and white tux inside with black long-sleeved suit on the outside.

Para sa mga mayayaman, normal na sa maraming pamilya ang magkaroon ng babae bilang attendant even though the job mostly belongs to men, because in most noble families, positions like the personal attendants are being passed down to ensure proper lineage in serving a noble family.

Nararamdaman ko parin ang galit ni Alvin sa akin ngaying nakatingin ako sa kaniya. He has been avoiding my looks this past two days at naiiintindihan ko naman kung bakit. I deceived them by hiding my name after they hide the fact that I was in their base. Pero hindi katulad ng iba, siya lang talaga ang ganito kagalit sa akin. Why is it a big deal if I hide my name? Isa din namang pekeng pangalan ang Keila Willar, so I don't mind making more fake names.

Ah is he angry because I kicked him that time in front of Sam? Ginawa ko yun para hindi sila pagsuspektahan pero sa huli ay inamin niya rin naman ang lahat. Wouldn't it look like all I did for them were useless? At ngayon siya pa ang magagalit? I sighed. He's being stubborn and its uncomfortable when his anger is directed at me. We get along pretty well since we first met at hindi ganito.

"This silence is really awkward.." narinig naming mahinang bulong ni Iriel. They've been listening and preparing for this plan but we never discussed what actually happened between me and Alvin. Kaya wala silang ideya kung bakit naging ganito.

"Argh naiinis ako sa inyong dalawa!" Biglang sigaw ni Caina. "Kung may problema kayo pag-usapan niyo yan! Accel itigil mo ang karwahe ngayon na!" Just as she said that, the carriage went to a halt by the sidelines at hindi nagtagal ay lumabas siya.

Kasama niya ring lumabas ang iba kaya naiwan kaming dalawa ni Alvin dito. I frowned. Well I appreciate them helping but I rather that they not meddle. Lalabas narin sana si Alvin pero agad na isinara ni Caina ang pintuan mula sa labas. He sighed and returned to his seat, then the silence continued on for another minute.
