Hey, this will have LGBT+ in it so if you're not comfortable with that, you can skip the chapter.

"So, Charlotte, Who are you asking to the Spirit Dance?" Henry asked as we took our 17th lap around the track.

The spirit dance. During Spirit Week, we have a lot of fun days and activities including a hypnotist show, a talent show and the Spirit Dance.

"I'm not sure." I lied. My eyes quickly darted towards Chloe, who was running with Jasper, before going back to Henry.

"You totally want to go with James Carter, don't you." Henry teases.

I crinkle my nose in disgust.

"Gross, no!" I snap.

Henry laughs at my reaction.

"Ok, fine, Michael Smith."

I punch Henry in the arm, while continuing to jog.

"Ok, ok. Sorry." He laughs.

We quickly pass our 18th lap.

Henry's about to suggest someone else when Chloe calls out.

"Charlotte! What lap are you on?"

"18." I reply.

"Cool, same. Reach 20 and we go get changed?" She asks.

"Ya! Sounds good." I reply.

I smile as I continue to run.

"Why are you smiling?" Henry asks.

"Am I not allowed to smile?" I ask.

"You like her don't you?" Henry asks.

"What? No!" I say unconvincingly while running faster.

"Uh oh. Does Charlotte like Chloe?" Henry teases.

"Shut up Hart." I growl.

"Come on Char, you know you like her." Henry teases.

I speed faster around the track while Henry tries to keep up.

Finally I find myself having past 20. I head to the girls change room. I peace sign Henry before heading in. Chloe heads in quickly after.

"So, Char, in the few seconds Jasper wasn't talking my ear off about buckets, I heard Henry mention the Spirit Dance."

My heart froze. Did she hear us talking about her?

"Ya?" I ask.

"Ya, I heard you want to go with James Corner?"

"No. Of course not." I reply. "Henry was just teasing me."

She nods as she takes the band out of her hair.

She pulls a brush out of her Lulu Lemon bag and brushes her flawless blonde waves.

"So, who do you want to take?" Chloe asks as she changes into her pink sweater.

My heart skips a beat. Should I tell her? Would she be weirded out? I mean, she's dated guys in the past, but she could be Bi or Pan.

I replace my tank top with a red shirt that said NASA on it.

"Well, uh, I kind of wanted to ask you." I nervously say.

Chloe stops lacing her boots.

She looks at me.

"Me?" She says.

My heart stops. Oh god. She's weirded out. She's not gay. Oh god. I should never have told her. She probably wants nothing to do with me.
